This is Reed versus Clingan. And I was pulling for Clingan.

 

Exactly and they will shut down all that 3pt talk just like thixx Nix and friends did. Even worse players like Holiday, Dort and my homie Devin Carter are going to almost shut him down completely. So we can expect a bad shooting night from Reed when he faces defensive specialists early in his career.

 

Clingan will win this one. Especially if they have someone to hound Reed.

 

100% agreed. The hype machine reads that and finds offense too, but I'm good with it.

 

He is a better player than JGreen at 19, however, that's not difficult.

 

For me Reed and Clingan are both guys who profile as more likely to be "quality starter" than "star player". I think Reed has a higher chance of being in multiple all-star games, while Clingan has a chance at making multiple all-defensive teams.

 

We undervalue that the All Star Games are more Popularity contests and that even Alperen would not get that many All Star appearances that many fans would like him to get.......

So saying Player A or Player B is going to be in multiple AS games, at this point it is more than conjecture and somewhat reckless because we all know how All Star votings goes.....

I think it is more fruitful to discuss if he is going to be a Top 10 player, a Top 20 player or a Top 40 type of player without delving too deeply into trophies and accomplishments.....it is way too early to call any of those.

Especially with the next 2 Drafts in the next 2 years being full of players that could easily be better than Sheppard and only 1 or 2 years younger than him and him not really having the age advantage for long.

 

Yup. That basically defines this draft whole draft year.

Reed is a shooting guard not a point guard….his handles, quickness and shooting skills provides him with a solid offensive foundation
