You suggested it would be a difficult series. If we play at even decent capability it won't be.

Aside from Denver, the T-Wolves were far and away the easiest first round opponent. They don't make volume 3's, and they don't play defense. That's a textbook recipe for how to lose to the Rockets.

 

Rockets won a game that was definitely closer than it should have been. Chris Paul seems like he puts a lot of pressure on himself and goes into a mode where he makes some decisions under stress rather than calmly. Hopefully, with teammates like he has now, he will be able to not put that pressure on himself.

One thing I like about this game is that we won while we weren't hitting our shots. I think coach D said something similar. We can definitely play better.

I will say our defense was pretty good the whole game and especially good during those stretches where it needed to be.

I like that James, Clint, and CP3 are all at the press conference together. That way maybe the reporters won't focus on CP3's mistakes his whole time at the press conference.

 

I've been hard on Clint and with reason too, but he established himself on defense from the beginning. That is the key to keep him going. He would have had a harder time against better rebounders/ defenders, but he did a fine job. Keep up the good work young man. We need you.

EDITED: The different camera angle with the 'travel play' shows that Towns
did NOT pick up his right (pivot) foot. NOT a travel. I was wrong.
The original cam angle I saw never showed his feet but looked like he was walking.
The far away cam shows he didn't actually travel. MY BAD.

We need to make more shots. Had we made our normal percentage of threes this game would not have been close. Make shots!

 

When the Rockets dominated the Wolves in the regular season, Luc was there for all 4 games. Get well soon, man.

 

Unfortunately yes. I didn't expect EG or Ariza to do anything of note. EG is hurting, but I'm astonished at CP3's utter failure tonight. He looked like he was getting into decent rhythm coming into the playoffs. Hopefully, he will start to relax and let the game come to him.

I expect Towns to be much better next game.
