Be honest, is there one legit NBA starter on the current team? They are simply horrible, the worst. This group makes the Hawks look like contenders. Bottomline, big changes or get ready to lotto again next season. No amount of happytalk or promotions can sell any intelligent basketball observer on this collection of low-end talent. Even two healthy All Stars won't be nearly enough, which is no lock at this point. Ten years of going nowhere, when will it change?

I knew right as it was happening that the win against golden state would be huge. Oh, if only we could travel back in time and do it all over again.

Are we 8th or 9th in the standings? We are tied with the Wolves. GS also beat the Mavs tonight and they are 31-47 to our 33-46. Honestly I don't particularly like the quality of the draft and every defeat gives me a feeling of disgust but since our choices in the draft seem poorer the lower we go down in the lottery standings, the only chance of even getting a decent player is by losing.

You know, every body knocks on how the lower levels and luxury seats are bringing in corporate fans that don't really care about the game. But see, that's just the thing, all you need is two namesakes like Yao and Tracy and you're good to go with that crowd. Those fans will pay the big bucks and finance the team without really caring for the game itself. So there isn't really any need to go a step further.

I hate this fact, but if you're the owner, this would probably have to be the road you go down if you want to be profitable. Mean while, I'm stuck in the nose bleeds when I go see a game :(

It won't change until there are serious changes at the top of the organization. That means Dawson has to go along with whoever is in charge of scouting and player evaluations. The fact that he's still around for another year does not generate any hope that things will improve next year. Let's face it: Next year, they still won't have a plan or a clue as to what steps must be taken for them to become true contenders in the West (and not just contenders in the minds of folks on this board).

Under Dawson's tenure what was once a championship franchise has been allowed to drift into NBA irrelevancy but the real culprit is Les Alexander who has stood by and both accepted and rewarded the ineptness and mediocrity. I point the biggest finger of blame at him because he owns this team and an owner that's truly committed to winning does not allow his team to slide to the depths that this team has reached. As with all things, nothing will be done until Uncle Les starts to feel our pain in his pocketbook.

u r a stupid **** for that post ...OOPs, that was me that posted this stupid post... I am so sorry JVG, I didn't know how good of a tanker u r ... Dwayne Casey should go ot ur school to learn..maan,, I am so sorry I underestimated ur ability to tank.... HOUSTON IS THE BEST CITY ON EARTH, we have the best tanking coaches in history of sports(Jeff & Dom), not only that, but they pretend that they are pissed and mad ...the game last night reminds me of the must lose last game of the texans season against SF.. at the end of the game, Dom had a stupid look at his face and he was shouting, it looked so much like Jeff's face last night... great loss for us... I had no doubt that we gonna win the game, but that's Basketball, a battle of will power, whoever wants the lottery more.. and HEAD, u dont know how much I appreciate it... and JHO, please dont get injured, we want a draft pick man. we cant win nomore games this season.. make sure u stay healthy and ready to play... :D

Don't the T-Wolves own the tiebreaker against us because we were tied 2-2 in the regular season but they have a better division and conference record.

    comments by JVG:
"The only thing you can control is what you do," Van Gundy said. "I would never, never do anything but play to win.

"I think a team has to do whatever is in its best long-term interests. I think Minnesota is in a tough situation. Losing a draft pick by winning is a tough situation. That's not an easy situation. I'm thankful we don't have any of those issues because I frankly wouldn't be a part of it. I think it's very hard to preach winning and then doing anything but try to do that.

"I'm empathetic to their plight. I think it's a very difficult situation they're in. But if you watch them, they play really hard."

Wow, we were smacking them up so bad.
I was afraid we were actually gonna win.

This comes as a hit to most fans at the Toyota Center, but its good in the long run. Better pick for us!

Lets get some tank action for the rest of the way and seal the deal.

The Timberwolves (20-30) have a better conference record than the Rockets (18-31). So we should be behind them in the standings... and AHEAD of them (#8 instead of #9) in the Lottery Race!

Sorry everybody. Tiebreakers for draft picks are based on a random drawing/coin-flip.
