So you think what? That KG will have a 50 pt night? I simply said that he will have under his average... and that Chuck will foul a lot. I didn't say that Chuck was going to own him.. just that he would play hard against him.. yeesh.

 

I'm certainly not saying Hayes will not play hard against him. I am merely stating that he doesn't have the physical tools to stop Garnett. Hayes will need a lot of help defense, but Garnett can pull Hayes away from the basket and do horrific damage from mid-range. When that happens and Garnett starts attacking the rim, Yao Ming will get the brunt of the fouls.

This scenario is what I fear. Here's to JVG figuring out a defensive scheme that will quiet the hounds.

 

That's why I think Chuck will foul out. He's going to be in the guy's face the entire time he is in the game, inside and out. If he gets beat with Garnett's drive, he's going to foul him before he gets to Yao.. at least that's my hope.

I'll second that, because once CH is in foul trouble who do you go do to fill that void? Padgett? Who has lost some of his quick step on defense and KG is going to blow by. Or Novak, who may do alright on playing defense just on KG but can't help you anywhere else on the defensive end.

Someone here said that Mt. Mutumbo is going to get a lot of playing time in this one, and they may be right.

Here's another thought, how bad would it be to have Shane play defense on KG part of the time? Who would that put Chuck on? Hassell?

Ideal Scenario:

Wolves beat the Mavericks in overtime tonight. Wolves get tired. Mavericks cool down and their winning streak is halted. We get an easy win over the tired Wolves tomorrow and Tmac and Yao rest in the 4th quarter and are energetic to take on the Suns for another win.

VERY SIMPLE

 

The only problem with this scenario is that, so far, we haven't played well when rested while our "tired" opposition seems to have gorged on energy bars.

Hayes will get a lot of help on KG. It's not a big deal since KG is about their only option on offense and MJames plays like crap this year (0 for 9 in the last 2 games, yuck!). And BTW, KG seldom attacks the rim in the paint on offense so I wouldn't worry too much about him causing foul troubles on Yao.

 

KG traded to the Rox before the game for JHo, the Bonzz, and a bag of chips.. which leads to an even bigger Rox blowout!
