And I love that, this is exactly the kind of thing that builds TEAM confidence....players may struggle but they know that their teamates will pick them up.

We are watching something special develop in Houston.

I can't wait until next week when the Rockets come out to the frozen north. I just ordered a new Rockets' shirt today and can't wait to debut it at the Target Center.

    Lets go Clutchfans North!

I wouldn't call it a limp, but he was definitely in pain. Foye drove the lane and made a tear shot over Yao, but kneed Yao in his private in the process. Yao bent over later while Skip was shooting FTs on the other end. At the time, the score was too close to Yao/JVG's liking. Later when rox had the game in hands with 30 sec to go, Yao was pulled. Tmac couldn't wait for the final buzzer and was the first player off the court.

something i did not understand tonight was when yao and chucky were both in the game at the same time, everytime yao recieved the ball and had single coverage, chucky would run right to yao therefore causing chucky's defender to double team yao?????

Why are people giving HoopsFancy a hard time?

"oh noes, your post is not up to my standard of level."

Sheesh, some people just love drama.

And some of y'all need to laid off the crack if you think that "reefer" is somehow the "hero" of this game.

Yao has been able to stay out of foul trouble lately. Me likey.

He is playing as well as anyone in the league right now. You have to think that he is a legit MVP candidate this season barring injury.

You are so funny DaDakota. I can never quite accurately describe you. You always jump to these solutions and conclusions that are broad, sweeping and so overkill simple, then you flip the next day when you see something different. I remember when I wrote that Rafer article with numbers in the summer that said he was a luxury as a backup and a liability as a starter -- you responded with "The only numbers that matter are the wins!!!". Then the last few weeks you've been telling people Rafer needs to be a backup. Now his poor shooting means a special team is developing.

You're cracking me up man. What we need to do is just put a camera in your head -- guarantee that video game will sell! :)

So far this season, Chucky and Bat are the only 2 rox players making any cuts to the rim. Chucky moving without the ball forces his defender to move with him, therefore creates space for Yao's spin move. If his defender leaves him and goes over to double Yao, then Chucky is all alone under the bucket. There was one play early in the game in which KG left Chucky, and led to a nice pass from Yao and easy layup for Chucky. KG barked to his teammates for not helping out, but really there was nothing they could do.

Seriously guys, Rafer didn't take many bad shots (there were only a couple of bad ones that I remember), almost all of his shots were of the wide-open variety, mostly dishes from T-Mac. The whole idea is to always get the ball to the open man through either penetration and dishing or some nifty ball movement.

Rafer usually has the luck of being the one player on the floor that's left open, much more so it seems than his fellow teammates -- with exception of Head off the bench.

He has to take those shots and make at least a decent percentage of them. The only exception is when Yao has good inside position and isn't being fronted/double-teamed/denied the ball.

Oh well, a win is a win I guess. I am just wondering if McGrady -- and apparently now Yao -- will be healthy for tomorrow night's game. They're tough kids so they will probably end up playing (like McGrady coming back in the second half), but if they're in pain we won't be good enough to win the game against an already tough arse opponent that usually kills us.

Just got back from the game. It was an ugly win, but a win is a win and I will take it anyway I can get it. Hatemavsforlife was right in his post, remember a couple of years ago and last year, there would be no way the Rockets win this game. Old Rocket (james) coming to town, trap game, three game win streak, etc., but this team is different, and you can just sense it. I hope they survive December, get Wells on the court, and keep injury free. WCF or bust...

Actually, the reason chucky was moving without the ball today was because KG was shadowing yao the whole game and pretty much double teaming yao whenever he touched the ball. Chuck hayes does what he is supposed to do when ur man leaves you to double team another player, you cut to the basket. Battier is different because when his man leaves him, he sets himself on the baseline for those spot up 3pters. Battier often cuts when his man is guarding him either for spacing reasons, or to creat passing lanes.

That's because the opposing teams have scouted us and know that Rafer is the worst shooter.

Yeah, DaDa is fun, he never quite knows what he wants (or says).

I've learned not to take him too seriously, that way he comes across as entertaining and somewhat amusing.

    He's a cool dude...
