I agree that the Rockets need to up the size of our SG. T-Mac needs a running mate at the swingman position. Earlier in the season at least we would have been able to throw Anderson's 6'5" size in there but we just cant count on him with the injuries and clearly he isnt a long term answer.

For the short term though, if you can stomach him, a guy like Ruben Patterson is available from Portland. He has this season and next season on his contract. He might be had for an expiring contract (I doubt Moochie would be enough, they would want Wesley at the least). Clearly there are the off the court problems with Patterson, however, on the court the guy is a bull. He can defend wing players, has good size and is a good rebounder. Isnt much of a 3pt shooter, but he does a lot of other things well, I think his skillset would be a nice match on this team.
Of course, an even better match would be someone like Toronto's Morris Peterson since he has a good 3pt shot.

No. The TWolves had Garnett guarding him and the Rox ran a high PnR getting single coverage from Ricky Davis. Since Ricky Davis gets about zero votes for the All Defense team, and since McGrady is almost impossible to stop in single coverage and since McGrady was fouled by Davis during the shot...basically nobody really gives a s**t.

What really gets me is how slow JVG is on making adjustments. If TMAC is having trouble shooting over KG, WHY do you keep have the man KG is guarding running picks for TMAC? You end up with KG guarding TMAC everytime they switch on pick-n-roll. Why couldn't he have the man KG is guarding dive to basket, and have someone else set up a pick for him.

Also how many times you need to see our guards getting abused on the low block before you decide to double. They went to the well so many times on that simple play, its maddening how long it took JVG to do something about it.

We basically had only two plays, TMAC posting up and TMAC on pick-n-roll, its time to get a new coach and some fresh ideas in here.

Yeah, those Ricky Davis isolations were a thing of brilliance. only the creative genius of real coach could come up with that.

The offense is built around Yao and Mcgrady don't be shortsighted and forget that. We have role players who because of injuries are asked to be more than role players.

Ricky Davis, if he came to the Rockets, with his talent, he could put up 25 points for us in a game, but when Yao comes back you would absolutely hate the guy.

Ah, there was just so much wrong about that game, all recounted here again by frustrated fans. Waiting for __________(fill in Yao, Howard, Sura, Anderson, Barry) to come back. Did I miss anyone - the list is so long....

Why is it Yao is practicing for a week and still won't be cleared for about 5 more days to come back?????

Van Gundy if this is really a plot to get a high draft pick then use the special code phrase the next time you are on 610 radio:

"I am enthusiastic about this team."

    :D

Ah...I almost forgot Anderson. I recalled that he used to draw a lot of fouls before he went down. He is smart and solid on offense and his defense seems fine too. He can definately replace Wesley for certain matchups.

Like JVG said a few weeks back: next time we should sign less injury-prone players. Honestly, if everyone or at least most of them are healthy, our 2-guard position will look much better (though still needs major upgrade).

I was not calling for JVG's head on the basis of the play of the last game. I see no problem with your analysis of a one-game or even a one season scenario. The problem is that one season is not the measure of a coach much less one game. I don't like the team that has been crafted around TMac and Yao. I don't like the style that JVG employs nor do I think it utilizes the talent that Y&T bring to the table. Since most people agree that this team is crafted by JVG, then I don't think he has put together an adequate product for the fans. T&Y are not the type players he had in NY and he has not adapted to their strengths and covered their weaknesses. Therefore, I still say that sooner or later he will have to be held accountable.
