it happens but it happens more often and in more drastic form if you avoid driving(and your drives worked!) and insist on continuing to shoot long 3s when you know youre cold...gotta be smarter than that...

this is probably the real answer

yes and many with a very defeatist mindset.
for the longest time everyone wants to tank or blow it up all the time.

its irrational in its love of losing.
its assuming defeat always. the 'we suck' idea.very tiring.there is also a large % of population here that want rockets to suck and are only comfortable with losing.

i would post more.. and read here more but its so toxic and negative I cant. its just how it is
it sucks about here but its not heres fault
    sitting at 2-0
    hugs

Plausible explanation because if Harden wanted to clown his defender with hot dogs moves, he could. Harden is pretty much unguardable one on one. Only Harden can stop himself.

imo it wasn't just dort playing physical and staying in front of harden all by himself. in game 2 okc set up a triangular defense behind dort to keep harden from getting to the cup. without that layer behind him i don't think dort can stay in front of harden even twice in the same game

My theory is 'why expend the energy trying to blow by someone every time
when you can just step back and shoot a dagger over them?"
If his 3 is not falling, then it's time to make things happen and drive

ARIZA is horrible during the playoffs every single year, regular season hes excellent but when playoffs comes he likes to build homes.

Exactly, it was not just Dort playing Harden straight up. They zoned up behind him to protect the paint.

This allows Dort to play tight knowing that there is help behind him.

Driving lanes not always open for Harden.

If you watch OKC defense, heads are always turned towards Harden even when he was off ball.

OKC geared its help defense to stop ONE guy.

dont deflect now, it was about rockets team(ego in particular etc) SETTLING FOR 3s not only harden...

they were either not very smart about it or preserving their health being confident they will win anyway... and they lost A LOT of games in the past this way...

they did it even in the game 1 chucking 3pointers early in the shotclock when should of milked the clock cause only few minutes left and it allowed okc to decrease the lead to only 10

There was an adjustment at end of 2nd to push more ball movement and Harden playing some off ball, thru hold sets, PnR with Green initiating and Harden the screener. We saw more driving lanes opening up in 3rd and 4th.

I agree, Rockets settled for 3's too often in 2nd. But this is a 3 point shooting team and the math tells us that 50+ threes equal a win.

There are going to be stretches when the 3's dont fall (whether early or late - gotta take the wide open 3) or players are cold. But Rockets have EIGHT players that can knock down that 3.

    Gotta keep shooting those 3's.

3s are a fools gold, layups are the real gold...open layup is the most efficient shot in basketball... better than open 3

game 1 and game 2 wins both came as result of attacking the rim not shooting 3s

What did I say. Refs just see we having some rhythm and refs call some 50/50 calls against us. Like both players were moving and if anything that was a foul on Dort. He might defend harden well but he is a flopper. Ppl calling Harden out coz he flops yet OKC is the biggest flopping team :p. Bs bs n more bs. I wish refs would be investigated for their shady officiating
