Clutchfans Game Thread: Thunder @ Rockets 8/20/2020 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 2)

I was worried about us playing an afternoon game. Maybe it affected our shooting, but it was great for our defense! We're two-zip. Outstanding!

I dont think OKC has the horses to punish us at any point - as i've said repeatedly... but the playoffs are a marathon - not a sprint...

 

Somewhat astounding to see a win without having a monster game from either Westbrook or Harden, but I will take it.

 

Lol this guy is a moron. He picks a play where Harden WAS fouled, didn't exagerrate, AND didn't get the call.... and that's what he's massively complaining about? If that happened every time like he says, then...... Harden would never get FTs and nothing changes. I can't even believe how stupid this is lol.

 

I was surprised and concerned about the afternoon start, but I was cautiously optimistic that we will win. 2-0, without Russ.
Take that TNT, ESPN, Bayless, Cowherd etc.

 

Rewatching the game and CP3 forced Billy D to challenge an out of bounds call that CLEARLY went off his foot in the 3rd qtr. CP3 was yelling at Billy D to challenge. Billy D lost that challenge and a timeout. That lost challenge is the reason he didn't think he had enough timeouts to stop the 17-0 Rockets run in the 4th qtr that pretty much ended the game

Everybody thinks the grass is greener on the other side of the hill. But sometimes, all there is on the other side is a steaming pile of freshly excreted bullsh*t.

I still remember when some here thought that Thibs would be a better coach for this team than D'antoni.

Dort defended Harden well and all but it was more about Harden being cold. Harden made the same number of 3s against Dort and Dennis. I felt Dennis played him better than last game. However I saw Harden wasn’t as aggressive today than on game 1. It could have been because everyone was cold from three and OKC was collapsing in the middle.

Maybe they should be writing about whomever was guarding Gordon as the next great defender

 

Let Dork run through some screens to free Harden. Dude being so big, he will commit three offensive fouls just by running people over.

 

0 turnovers from Harden in a playoff game is pretty dam amazing. I've noticed Harden just in general turnover the ball less.

Also I think the media narrative of him being a bad defender is finally shifting. I'm seeing casuals even admit he's not a "poor defender" anymore.

 

Really? I could have sworn it touched a Rox player, I think it was Harden last.

It doesn't matter, I think they are erasing Coaching Challeges from the Play by play records.

I didn't see much barking from CP, they cut to commercials and I had a mediocre connection.

 

This is the one area that I would hope MDA would change, play the hot hand at end of games.

Covington was better defensively and from 3 than EGo yesterday.

But just picking nits right now.
