He needs to play way more around the paint than he does. That mid range step back he has is deadly but we see him take way too many 3s.

Going 0-10 from three is unacceptable, mainly because at one point a player has to realize he's cold from three and stop shooting that shot and not just settle for 0-10

    T Jones (out)
    DMo (out)
Chuck Hayes (questionable with foot sprain)

You are correct as Calvin stated last night in the Post Game. After the game Whiteside was interviewed and stated that Miami second half adjustement was crowding the 3pt line and making the rockets drive to the paint. With the makeup of this team Miami knew no one would take a midrange shot. Ariza, harden , beverly and others are abysmal from midrange. Lawson can take them but his height makes it hard for him to get those shots .

I wanna see Pat start tonight, and have Lawson come off the bench.

I am guessing Marcus Thornton is starting again?

This is getting comical with the injuries and poor play we have gotten.

    Its like the 2005-2006 season.

Rockets came off a very promising 2005 playoffs. McGrady looked like a top 3 NBA player, Yao was just entering his prime, we brought back the majority of the team and signed some, what we thought to be, great free agents to give our team really good depth (Derek Anderson, Stromile Swift, Rafer Alston). In the preseason, things looked very good but there were guys in and out of the lineup. Still, the media and our fans were buying big on the team; I remember ESPN had us a top 5 team in the league. Then when the season started, injury after injury. T-Mac struggled a little out the gates, Yao was great but rarely played.

That season turned into the season of Stromile Swift and how red JVG could get watching dumb basketball. And we went 34-48, with the 8th pick in the draft.

This game is the first opportunity the Rockets have had (because of injuries) since 1 time in preseason where they can test out the Howard/Capela front line.

law of averages say that rox should at some point shoot way above what they are capable of to bring up their 3 pter %.....right?

Yeah, he had some really good numbers. I remember one game he had like 26 and 12 but then when you looked at his box score, he had to take like 24 shots, missed 6 of 12 free throws and had 6TOs.

    Hahaha

I don't even know or want to remember.

That was my second year watching Rockets religiously and my 11 year old self was so heartbroken during that year.

The highlight of that year was the 2006 All-Star Game in Houston where T-Mac had a crazy good game but lost the MVP to LBJ. :(
