The back genie needs to give Donatas a rub. His presence is missed more than Dwight and Jones. The Rockets are getting swarmed on the perimeter without a competent post option.

Get better soon, Motiejunas! The Rockets need some Donuts in their game.

One point I'd like to make is that one of the reasons the Rockets look so bad is that their shots are not falling at all. They are shooting waaaaaay worse than their average.

So if the Rockets would shoot at last year's average, they would have looked much better than they have been and could have won one of the three previous games.

The reason they have been losing by 20 is that their offense isn't running smoothly yet because of new players, COMBINED with just awful shooting.

So if their shots are falling tonight, we'd actually get a more accurate look at the team. Because they are missing open shots right now that the offense created.

Harden needs to play his game. Enough of this sitting around the perimeter jacking up threes.

Attack, attack, ATTACK. Force the issue, if you drive enough the refs will give you the calls. Force the defense to sink in and collapse.

Ariza, stop pump faking. I'd like to see him stop being so hesitant on his three point shot.

    Jones - Stop.

Dwight - Please play like the old Dwight more often, not the OLD Dwight.

Lawson - Demand the ball more

I'm sorry to say this, but this post is full of WRONG.

This is exactly what you come up with if you only look at the stats. You see low fg% and 3fg% and think meh it's just a cold stretch.

The true reason the % are so low is because the offense isn't functional, it gets them no open looks at all. It's blatantly obvious that it's not an NBA level offense, it's pickup game level. it caught a lot of teams off guard last year and shots were falling and a lot of teams didn't know how to defend Harden yet and it all looked good. We won't get so lucky this year.

You can't treat the NBA like a pickup game. Does the Rockets organization think we have better individuals than GSW, LAC, SAS, OKC, CLE? Because those teams have great players AND (at least 4 of them) have a healthy offense. Even if we got Durant, you can't just tell the guys to go out move the ball and play hard, we'd never be able to consistently win against top teams, not until there's an actual offense that players and coaches understand inherently, you gotta have plays in your muscle memory for them to be successful, that's exactly why GSW looks so fluid, each and every guy recognizes the situation at hand and doesn't even have to think to know when to shoot, when and to whom to pass, when and how to cut, when and where to set a screen, etc.

Halloween is over, but this is horrifying. Don't hit the spoiler unless you dare.

We wouldn't be 0-3 If they didn't forget how to shoot. The defensive will vastly improve when tthe shots start to drop.

Live by the 3, Die by the 3.... This team will never win a title shooting 40 three's a game... especially when we don't have elite 3 point shooters..

If you are off then attack the basket and if we don't and keep chucking then we will get blown out by 30

I don't care about anything else. I don't care who the coach, GM, owner is. I don't care who starts, I don't care what the blinking rotation is, just don't lose by 20, lol. Go Rockets!

When we won in 1995, we attempted 21 3s a game. This year and last we attempted 32.
    That's insane.
    In 1994 we attempted 16 a game.
And we had maxwell and kenny who jack up 3s.

He can only attack if he has space to or he will get his shot blocked since he doesnt jump very high. Ibaka and Adams will make that hard for him.

Yep. That's my point. They are bricking even their open looks.

Like I said, the offense isn't running very smoothly right now. They aren't getting as many open looks as they'd like. But in addition to that, they are shooting terribly. That's why they are getting blown out.

If their shots were falling, they could still make the games close even though their offense isn't very smooth right now. They could pull out close wins.

But the poorly run offense plus the poor shooting = blowout.

They'll look better when their shots start falling.

I do watch the games and don't just look at stats.

Look at the first half against Miami. They were actually moving the ball well. They were making good passes and moving the ball to get open looks. They weren't hitting all of their shots, but Thornton was hitting his 3's and they were getting some shots to fall.

They had decent shooting + a pretty smooth offense. That led to them going up big.

In the second half, the ball movement stopped. They went back to running a very poor offense like they did the previous 2 games. In addition to that, everyone went cold. Those two things combined = blowout in the other direction.

The poor ball movement certainly contributed to the poor shooting... but that wasn't the whole story. They were just plain shooting bad - even when they were open.
