They are both not as good as their fans say, and not as bad as their detractors claim.

Why keep Yao and Tmac on the floor? Obviously Yao was a little tired.

There is no question that either of these lineups is best suited to run a halfcourt offense.

    Alston
    McGrady
    Artest
    Scola
    Yao

    Alston
    McGrady
    Battier
    Scola
    Yao

Those lineups need to excecute well, avoid TOs and take advantage of mismatches. There just isn't enough athleticism to do otherwise. They can't afford TOs and bad shots because they can't transition back on D well, especially against younger, quicker teams.

If the Rockets want to place a faster pace, Brooks and Landry have to be on the court. Alston is pretty good in an uptempo lineup as well.

I love how fast people forget how good Yao played Thursday. Some how 3 quarters of bad basketball = being traded lol

Yao can't slam it, and TMac has no jump shot (4/13 right now). And our defense is porous. Whatever.

i think part of the problem today is really just bad shooting...perhaps that led to less energy and motivation on defense.

is the problem of horrible home court shooting returning to the rox?

Well somebody needs to take over, bench needs to keep that lead while Yao, Tracy will be resting and than probably McGrady will have to take over with his free throws

I miss the days of Otis Thorpe, Olajuwon, Horry, Max & Kenny. When they got scored on, the first thing they did was look for the quick outlet. They all understood the effectiveness of fast break points and lack of transition D by opposing teams. Of course they had guys who could throw the pass and catch the pass, i don't believe many on this team can even do that.
Boy, what i would love to have a guy like OT in there with his giant hands to throw the quick outlet pass and also a guy who used to dunk everytime he could !! See OT was a guy who understood the effectiveness of a dunk, he wasn't being flashy like most players. Sometimes it even look real ugly with his mid-air chicking leg form when he dunked :D but it was EFFECTIVE !!

Landry is a lot better than Scola I must say.... he is a great rebounder, defender, finishes much better at the rim and even has a jump shot now! We need him to start with Yao. Mainly because unlike Scola, Landry doesn't need to create his own shot to be effectove. Scola can come in with the second team where he can be the focus on the offense and create his own shots.
