FYI, the Rockets lineup is much better than the Magic of last year, and if they are "no better than last year's Magic", then you are basically making an unbelievable case for Yao as the league's MVP for carrying such a crappy team on his back to the playoffs. So let's put that in perspective. Anyways, with or without Yao, Suns will win big, probably by more than 15.
no doubt....Im getting sick to death of hearing some of these "no better than MAgic" statements. that is a load of crap. Tmac had NOBODY to help him last year. Here...he has several guys that are better than the players he had last year. hell...even the one guy left from the Magic trade has been inspired to play better than he was last year. So...why dont we put that expression to bed permenantly? It is patently untrue..and just makes you look ignorant of the game and the league to say it. btw....we win. Unless the injury is more serious than we have been led to believe...Yao plays.
there are guys that aren't mvp caliber players, but are just as important to their team's success as the mvp is to his team. Yao is one of those players. Let's hope he plays tomorrow.
Yao and T-Mac are the MVPs of this team, I could care less about their standings in the league. R2K, Couldn't have said it better, exactly my sentiments, but you do understand why that "Houston Magic" reference is made, right? You do understand that there is a much deeper sentiment being expressed behind the usage of such a phrase? It is an annoying as hell word that has been repeated around the forum by certain individuals, but I know the 'subliminal' meaning behind it and why it is used.
Will Yao play in this game? It doesn't look promising from the article from Hoston Chronicle Link Yao has received treatment the past two days. With little progress from Friday to Saturday, Rockets officials are waiting to see how Yao responds to Saturday's session. It's going to be one tough game tonight, really tough.
****, I just saw Barbosa and Nash at Copa Room. None of them were drinking but I told to start drinking so the Rockets would whoop that ass and they laughed at me.
Yao has to play....a bruise on his calf????? Come on Yao.....time to step it up. They said he had been playing with it already....suit up Yao....play !! DD
I believe they meant that he initially got hurt 2-3 weeks ago. Then re-injured and got worse in Portland game...
I heard somewhere that Yao got injured in that Phoenix game where he got 27/22/5, has been playing with it, and then the injury get re-aggravated by Ha's foul. It could be something serious or can turn into something serious. I just hope Keith Jones did his job and make the right decision.
As I said: B-L-O-W-O-U-T! Sorry, I just think the way the Rockets guards are shooting, (our guards Wesley, Barry, James, Sura), who will be getting a lot of open shots and MUST make them for us to even stay in the game, is not very encouraging. You miss a few shots in a row against the Suns, and you are blown out. It is as simple as that. And judging by the way our guards have been shooting the past month or so, I think their shooting woes will hold true this time around as well. But, of course, I could be wrong.
What are you guys smokin?! I dont care for Phoenix in the least bit but I'm afraid they can kick just about any teams ass in the West including the Rocks. I think this one will be ugly. Rockets lose by double digits. Good Luck anyhow.......
I hate to sound negative, but after that game friday night, I am not looking forward to the thrashing the Suns will give us in this one...
I don't think that Yao is the kind of player that would sit out because of little, minor injuries unless it's really bothering him. I think it's remarkable that a man his size, and with the beating he gets that he hasn't been injured more often considering he has played all year long for 3 straight years now.
On yahoo game channel, the game is already finished! And Rox lost 98-108. And Taylor is still on the team.
Totally depends on outside shooting form the four guards. If tey shoot well, close game, if they dont, blowout loss.
if yao doesn't play i would take that score and be happy. if he does play i think we win this one. with yao: ROX:111 suns:108
I'm more afraid of the Matrix too. Yao and TMac played great last time against Phoenix. But they also lucked out 'cuz the matrix didn't play. This time around, even if Yao does play, I think we'll probably lose to a Phoenix team at full force. But it'll be close.
I think the most important is to win in playoffs. Why we care this game so much, if Yao feels not comfortable, let him rest more, if Tmac feels not good too, don't even play him. Win or lose, does matter in one or two game, as long as we win more games tham Grizzlies, that's fine.
