JVG finally find the way to beat tems like Suns and Hornet, when we face that type of teams, it's hard to defend coz Yao is big but slow, offense is the key to win. So excited, HCA.
Nash, Marion & Amare all played 34+ minutes in this game, PHX played hard by the looks of it and wanted the win so this has to be taken as a good win for the Rox, securing Homecourt is huge aswell. Let's hope JVG has some sense to rest Tmac and Yao against Utah, we don't need to play them but I wouldn't be surprised if they both played 15+ minutes knowing how JVG has coached the Rox this season. All in all, a good win against a PHX that looked like they wanted to win tonight, will wait to see it for myself when Rockets2K gets the game up.
We won with offensive rebounding tonight, without it.....I shudder to think..... We simply pounded them on the glass.....which you should do to team's that go small...don't match em....POUND em. DD
A win against the Suns proves that the Rockets can defeat them which is important because it gives them confidence against the fastest team in the NBA.It was expected that Phoenix would come back and we had our familiar 4th quarter collapse which is still a problem going into the playoffs but our guys deserve credit for hanging in and coming out as winners. Skip was unfortunately back to his bricklayers but Battier's scoring was very welcome in addition to of course Yao and T-Mac.
What a great win!HCA OVER Utah! JVG knows how to beat PHX all along,just win 2 out of 3 following games:1,the 3 point game;2,the rebounding game;3.the FT game.And we won all of those 3 game tonight! Go Rockets!
This team has to learn to slow down the pace when we are leading by 10 and with 5 minutest to go. Sometimes we hurry up shoots and that cause the collapse in the 4th. TMac usually hurries the 3 pointers when we should try to burn all 24 seconds.
For the last game of the season, should Rox rest its starters or should it keep the momentum going? One thing to watch out for is Detroit still has two games left. They could end up with better record than we do. Maybe the last game against j*zz will give us HC in the NBA Final?
What a game, I have to make a post just to leave my mark. HC advantage, I could feel the Jazz trembling in their shoes.
Reflections: 1. TMac did an MJ impression in the first half; Yao did Tiny Tim. 2. In the second, TMac faded, Yao came on. 3. Another fourth quarter melt down, this is a habit. Poor passing, poor shot selection, stupid turnovers, and a really dumb three second call on Yao. 4. A priority for next year is a "lights out" (excuse the term) finisher with a junk yard dog attitude. 5. The Suns are ridiculous shooters!!!! Who shoots like that?! They shot almost 60%, that's is just crazy. 6. One of the most exciting games I have seen. 7. The Suns are stupid for going "all out" in a meaningless game, and the Rockets will be stupid if Yao or TMac even go to Utah. 8. The Houston Rockets have first round home court. How sweet it is.
