He did a behind-the-back dribble, but his dribble was stopped by pretty decent defense by JaVale (until he ate the floor). He was stuck between being too far from a layup and making an awkward jumpshot, so he bounced it off the glass for what should've been an easy self-pass and lay-in, but another defender kind of got in the way. He still managed to tip the ball in. TMac used to do this all the time. I don't think it was flash because I don't think he's looking to go for highlight reel dunks. Looked more like necessity to me, but what do I know?
Folks be on here making posts and arguing on Twitter spaces that people are mad because we’re losing and trying to point the finger at certain players. I EXPECT and WANT us to lose. Tonight is a perfect example and proof that we be mad because of stupid coaching and bad rotations. I don’t want to see David Nwaba playing center. I just don’t. I honestly don’t want Gary Mathews playing 21 minutes in the 1st half and we should moth ball Eric Gordon the rest of the year. If we’re going to lose anyways, we want to see the young guys and we want to see the young guys actually improving. Nobody is mad tonight. Nix over Schroder
It is the way of losing though, you want to avoid big deficits during the game and blowouts. Losing by 2-12 pts is acceptable IMO, even by 13 pts. You have 13 more games, season is over with, tankathon is on though.
its probably the recurrent injuries why he doesnt attack the rim...this is why midrange is so valuable and more efficient in preserving your health
You guys whining about KPJ's assists are hilarious - no one b****ed and moaned when CP3 got those, or Harden....... KPJ and Green are coming together and looking pretty sweet......enjoy the ride.... Alleged ROCKET fans. DD
wow this is really horrible and inneficeint!@#$@##!! Would it have killed him to just make an additional small step backwards and shoot the more efficient shot? its impossible to win like this....
LOLOL why??! why he just didnt shoot the 3 right away?!!, the shot was there why he hesitated? should have been more decisive....3 was the right play and its the more efficient shot... if you look at nba.com under heading yada yada yada...in the season of xy, teams shot % from the spot xmdr and they shoot overall 12123% from the spot 3 xyz VORP GORB BLORP blah blah blah +- raptors craptors... signed DUMBALYTICS
If I was the coach I would be yanking people out and throwing players in randomly with no rhyme or reason just to keep them all on their toes. Like Wood could have a big dunk on his defender and I would be like "Wood! Bench! Uuuuhh ( looking around me) Hornacek! No. Nix! Get in there!". Then Greens hit 4 - 3's in a row and about to win the game and I yank his ass off and put Garuba in and say, it's your time to shine buddy. Every one would be like WTF are you doing?? And I'd be like, I don't know but ain't it fun??
I’m not mad at the way KPJ played last night. I think that was a good game for him and I’d be happy with that moving forward. I would like to address your comment because you’re not wrong, but the chatter isn’t completely unsubstantiated. The vast majority of his assists have always been like this. Some people are just now noticing this. I’m a coach and I played PG growing up so I been pointed this out a long time ago. That’s why I say stat accumulation by being the primary ball handler. You’re right, every primary ball handler gets a few of these cheap assists every single game. The issue is, you’d also like to see more created assists from dribble penetration rather than just him being the guy with the ball the most. The majority of those passes are ones any decent guard can make if they were placed in the same situation.
Sigh - he can't win. He is averaging around 7+ assists in the last few months with low turnovers - he has gotten significantly better, yes, he can add a drive and dish to his game too - then he would be over 10apg if he had shooters around him. How many passes has he had in the pocket to TATE that bricked? KPJ is doing GREAT for a 21 year old learning a brand new position - he is unselfish - and that is the key. BTW - traditional PGs are dead - for the most part, it is scoring point guards now.....and thank GOD we have 2 attackers in Green and KPJ......makes us more deadly...... Nix is the closest thing we got to a real traditional PG and please notice they sent him down to learn to shoot.....just sayin....... DD
KPJ needs another off-season to work on his PnR offense. Hopefully it will be with Chet or Jabari and Sengun. Right now his decision making on those plays is pretty poor.
its fine but but hes taking ball from senguns hands, and sengun should be the primary playmaker sengun is natural at beating his man, something kpj is very bad at hes 3 times passer now that KPJ will ever be hes natural at getting to the rim and KPJ struggles getting to and finishing at the rim hes a better FT shooter than KPJ(lol imagine that!) and miles batter at drawing fouls than KPJ all KPJ has is a fancy dribbles that goes nowhere SENGUN HAS A VISION MAN...KPJ HAS A TUNEL VISION
