I don't understand his thoughts, with 1 sec left, it was a prayer anyway, why use your last timeout??

    That is a idiot move.

Oh well. When SF and CM each go about 3 for 15, it's amazing we were this close :(

We're in big trouble in the playoffs when your guards are shooting under 40% against the conference.... and they're playing all the minutes.

I don't think I've been this pissed about a game in a few years. How typical of the Rockets? Win 5 in a row against tough teams only to lose to one of the worst teams in the NBA and do it on stupid turnovers, bad clock management and poor shooting.

What a steaming pile of dog crap.

Okay, so they lost it in overtime. Not the end of the world.

WHAT?!?!?! They were up by 21!?!??!!?

Well on the brighter side of things, you can't blame the last shot in overtime on Steve.:p

It just so frustrating to see JVG manage his timeouts.

With 1 sec left, little chance can you make the shot. Instead, JVG use his last timeout and come out a airball from Cat.

17 secs left, they made another mistake by leaving Marion shooting a comfortable 3 pts shot.

Now 5 secs left, if we had the last timeout, it could be a pretty good setup.

Damn, JVG is an idiot when comes to manage his timeouts.

We clearly blame Yao because he missed the last shot...oh, he's the reason Steve played so poorly too...

Adrian Griffin is a brilliant defender, see how he sicks to Marion for the 3?

And why is he trying to help out somebody underneath the basket to leave Amare with an easy hook?

Two clutch possessions, two open shots. Good job Adrian.

Our Achilles Heel got exposed tonite. Trapping defenses exploit our guard's poor passing and bad decision making. It's been a problem for us all year.

Francis and Mobley were a collective 10 for 35 with 9 turnovers!! That says it all.

Don't hang this one on JVG.

Give some credit to Phoenix guys... even though we did blow the lead with stupid TO's, etc., once it was a close game they made the plays that needed to be made on both ends of the court.

Plus, I think the loss of Mo-T and Spoon hurt us big-time. Padgett is a decent 3 point shooter, but he's not a big-minute player, and he just hasn't played enough with this team to be comfortable in all the offensive sets.

If we had either of those injured guys on the floor, we would have been able to exploit the dreaded "fronting" defense, and also would have had a few extra bodies to spare the big minutes for Yao.

Now we have three days off to really get mentally focused for this final stretch. We're still making the playoffs, but this should serve as a wake up call that nobody's gonna lay down for us... even when we're up 21.

Yep. Those are the two possessions I was referring to. Oh well. Hopefully this'll fire them up for GS next week.

Yep, I hear you. The Rockets had the 'deer in headlights' look from the second quarter on. Throw in a little pressure and the guards melt... their poor shooting in this offense comes out, and their hideous passing skills are exposed. Yeah, I know people hear this a million times, but you really have to ask yourself: By the end of the third quarter, why have three other Rockets taken more shots than Yao Ming? Hey, I'd be fine with that, if they're hitting their shots. The dude only finished 11-16, snared 18 boards and blocked 6 shots. It is cemented in me that this team, as is, will never "turn the corner". Never. I've been burned too many times to think they have. It's why I push for some change in the starting guard duo and refuse to get too high after a nice "stretch".

They'll have to win a championship before I say, "hmmm.... I think maybe they're getting it."

Scratch that - if Mobley and Francis are still starting, then make it back-to-back titles. :)

On a serious and lighter note, Yao is having a great month of March.

    24.4 PPG
    10.4 RPG
    2.57 BPG

    90% FTs
    58.3% FGs

I hate to whine after a loss because it make us look like sour losers, but goddam refs been letting Jake Voskul push Yao with both hands. OK, I guess I'm used to that by now, but then on the other hand, Yao gets called for the minute contact on Stoudemire for an and1. Or how about that offensive foul.

Once again the Rockets get beat by the trapping team...

:) Well the last two lines are just exaggeration to make a point, but the first paragraph I mean every word.
