i agree, but he doesnt suck, he just isnt playin with any passion! maybe lebron will be on the tradin block this offseason, i would take love to see that happen!!
He sure looked like (and has been) scoring at will (when he's had the ball in his hands that is) since he's been on this particular tear of his...
This could have been a bigger blowout if the Suns were hot, haven't looked at the stats but they were actually missing some shots. If T-Mac does not pull out of this slump we have no chance of making the playoffs, he made up for a lot of the inadequacies of our other shooters and if he's not there it exposes our mediocre perimeter game. Luther really needs to work on his shot during the off season, his mechanics are ugly. He was a guy that I thought could be a 3rd option but he has lost his shot.
if you cant beat them, join them. in other words, if you cant play defense and stop them from scoring, join them in scoring atleast.
For a franchise and top-salary player like TMac, playing w/o any passion (for more than a couple of games) = sucks. Sorry, TMac, but I AM disappointed at the way you're playing now. Do you have any heart on this team or this sport? (Oh we know you definitely have heart on your family.)
also remember t-mac took that orlando team to 21 wins a few seasons ago. so would you say because of t-mac magic got that horrible record also? would you say if t-mac didn't play tonight's game and rockets lost that they are 1-14 without him?
I tend to agree with you. I really haven't thought through the match-up problems though and what the translates into. What has also bothered me is if the offensive / defensive schemes tire out our guards needlessly as well. People always talk about how the guards should be knocking down their shots. Besides TMac our guards under JVG have all been pretty streaky. I wonder if it's not JVG's system that is the main contributor to this.
Yea you are right, but what playoff caliber frontcourt have we played? I'd say the best was maybe Orlando? And Howard wasnt even guarding him the whole game.
Yao has had his time to show he can lead this team without Mac, and he didnt do it until Friday. Face it, that Orlando team was HORRIBLE! Our squad - Yao is better then Orlando of that year!
Nash is the best player on the planet right now, the guy completely controls the game. He would make Langhi a double digit scorer...he just makes the game so easy for everyone else. I wish the Rockets had a lightning quick guard to put on him to stay in front of him, players like Boykins etc...smaller quicker guards make Nash struggle. DD
we need LEBRON, I pray, and I'll continue to pray that the Clutch Gods will make this come true!! Lebron is young: T-Mac is old Lebron plays with heart: T-Mac's heart is somewhere not to be found Lebron is a GREAT passer: T-Mac passes the ball to only get it back Imagine Lebron's passing with Yao "The Dominator" PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Deliver the Choosen ONE to H-Town!! Hell, I'd even throw in a bag of Rafer!
He didn't have any problems with the Suns for the first time this season (they had been his personal bugaboo of sorts after all) and he's battered the Clippers (basing it on those two teams being playoff teams). I do believe that he's turned the corner so to speak and can carry the performance onwards against the higher caliber frontcourts such as Detroit et al. Also, like tis been mentioned time and time again, having one of our stars playing at a high level isn't enough. We need both to step it up at the same time if we want to get anywhere..Tracy can't win enough games when it counts all by himself either. Oh and we can't win at all when it counts if our role players continue to stink it up like they seem to do all too often [/end rant]
You know that's the one thing that I liked about Rudy. One of his approaches to defense was offense. How many times did we hear about the tactic of taking a toll on the opposing offensive guard by making him play defense on you instead of just you playing defense on him.
I agree with you. You should coach this team. Dont understand what JVG has in mind when he plays teams like the Suns they way he does
I don't want this to turn into a Yao vs Tracy thing/Yao can't carry the team discussion, however the caliber of competition + Yao not being healthy (the toe) + a lot of rotation players missing significant time during that spell had a lot to do with that 0-13 record. I just feel that those mitigating circumstances are overlooked way too often.
The strategy I outlined for Nash is exactly the Strategy the Rockets used to get by the Lakers in '86. As soon as a Rocket shot the ball, Mitch Wiggins was in Magic's face to deny the outlet pass. It hurt the Lakers offense a ton, and the Rockets won 4 games to 1..... Sometimes going back to the past is the best way to deal with the here and now. DD
