JVG continually is getting out coached these days.

Yes, he made some decent offensive adjustments that helped open it up for Yao.

However, he still covers the inside and leaves great shooters WIDE open.

The only way to play Phoenix is to play Nash straight up, DO NOT DOUBLE team him, and if he scores 50, so what, the rest of the guys should stay on their man, and make the rest of the team wall flowers.

Also, whomever has Nash should deny him the ball, as soon as the Rockets take a shot, someone guard Nash....just deny him the ball, make someone else on Phoenix bring it up.

Wear Nash out.....on defense too, whomever he is guarding, post him up on Nash...make him work hard on defense.

JVG makes it too easy on teams like Phoenix, we should be punishing them, but instead we play right into their strengths, very frustrating.

No, it was quite obvious TMac wasn't right physically. Nobody can shut him down.

We got hammered by a superior team who're a matchup nightmare for us.

Get over it! Better teams win.

Dudes makin $5 mill and putting up his career #s and you have given up on him? Yea, we all expected better but we also expected him to start and play 30 mins. Avg 21 mins and putting up 9.5 and 5....I'll take it. :D

ok i really wanna see the record when yao was out. i know we got some wins, but what teams did we play? wouldn't you say part of the reasons why rocket went 0-13 when tmac didn't play was because yao was playing with a bunch of bench players? and rockets did win a few nights ago without mcgrady.

Well, Van Gundy did do that.

The Rockets were killing the Suns on the boards in the first quarter with Yao in the middle. Obviously, Van Gundy felt that was a mismatch in our favor, and wanted Mutombo to continue that when he came in. I actually thought Mutombo did a better job when he came in than going with a small lineup to try to match the Suns. We're too slow anyways, so we might as well put in our best rebounders.

And I can't figure out why Chuck Hayes can't get some minutes guarding Marion. He seems like he could do at least as good a job as Bowen, and it's not like Bowen is any kind of threat outside of 2 feet from the basket anyways.

McGrady didn't play with much intensity this game -- reminiscent of his last game in Phoenix. He was lethargic on offense and defense. Wesley played like he was hurt, and Rafer played like he was intimidated by Nash.

I thought Bogans did a solid job off the bench, and Howard and Yao played about as well as they can play.

Just mentioned on Sports Radio 610 - TMac hurt his neck in the 2nd half.

    W-Mac,

So, basically, only Tmac is positive in this team, right? That's what I saw your thread.

So IF we make the playoffs, we're gonna be 1 and done? Correct? Then why blow a draft spot to get in and get kicked?

Neck schmek the guy has more excuses than a poor student.

Everyone is hurting at this time of the year in the NBA, everyone....Tmac seems to let it bother him more than others.

He needs to grab his tethered sack and see if he truly has a pair.

TMac sucks these days. Don't ask me why, but he DOES suck.

With he playing like that, I'm already glad with what we've got these days. But for Suns, they are too strong a team for Yao himself to beat.

He looked like he was in major pain, but he did play for about another 2-4 mins (don't know exactly how long) after that, so make of that what you will. I am hopeful that it was nothing major *knock on wood*.

I have a question. Relatively speaking, the role players were making shots early in the game (first quarter and part of the second). Why did they start shooting blanks? Fatigue?Pressure?Choking? The shooters seem to magically go cold as the game progressed. Don't tell me it had anything do with the Suns D as a ton of those shots were wide wide wide open..

when the Mavs beat the Suns in Game 4 of the semis last year, Nash scored 47.

I was at the game. Bottom line is the Suns are better than we are. The good teams in the NBA are better than the Rockets because their role players are better than the Rockets role players are.

T-Mac only scoring 13 points was dissappointing. In two of the bigger games, vs the Lakers and tonight vs the Suns, TMac put up 11 and 13.

Count me in as also not buying T-Mac's excuses. And it's because these "issues" and "injuries" are coming up a little too often in the course of one season.

I never said that. I said we will only go as far as McGrady takes us. (See the 1-13 record without him!) IMO, I dont think Yao can completely take over a game like McGrady can. Granted, he is playing the best ball of his career. But I dont think he has that ability to score at will like Tmac can.
