Reading the NBA article on Howard calling out Rockets to show more effort. If you replace "we" with "Harden" in half of his and McHale's sentences, you see they are actually calling only one player out, and they is doing the right thing.
I totally agree. A player can have a cold night and it's part of the business. However, when you are cold, don't try to fix it by taking more shots. Just keep on playing team ball. That's actually something that the coach has to adjust.
Like I said, maybe benching Harden to get the ball moving was something McHale should've considered in the 4th quarter. How else is Harden going to understand what he needs to do unless he's held accountable? Kinda like that 4th quarter Grizzlies game where the players just kept moving the ball until they found a good shot, and we won.
No, I don't think so. Only when he has a bad night and it is not that often. Melo does it in every game. They don't have any other game.
Kobe lost a lot of games due to selfishness last session he had to make himself pass the ball for a week just to prove that he isn't a ball hog
Harden has had only 2 good games this season so far and most points come him flopping in paint looking for fouls. Melo has no help in New York so he has to play 3 positions while trying to carry scoring load
I don't buy that. Melo has Udrih, Prigione and Hardaway Jr. shooting effectively from outside. Even Bargnani and Shumpert are reasonable shooters from 3pt land (better than Melo). So pass the ball.
Tonight's game showed how much we miss Parsons and Lin, players that can create they're own shot as well as assist. With only Harden as the true play maker, he took it upon himself to create, maybe a little too much. A trade for an elite point (Rondo) would be ideal.
But again Clay is not your ordinary scrub, remember the rule, only scrub can drop 40's on him and suddenly looks like superstar. Well perhaps Bazermore or Nedovic will do
http://youtu.be/3uqSzHZ-DSM 1:27, look at Westbrook. I am telling you, Harden's defense is all about bad habits learned in OKC. It gets worse...look at Durant at 2:26. Those two situations happen to Harden at least twice each. Just an example of why OKC will never win a title with Brooks as their coach. As for Klay Thompson...have Garcia chase him with Harden on Barnes or Iggy. Also extent the rotation to use Brewer.
