it's just the way yao is playing tonight.... makes you think what a blessing a player like hakeem was.
Maybe it's just me, but I think he's doing ok in the second half. Despite having bad stats this time around, he's actually playing better than he did in the 24 pt 13 rebound outing against Indiana
They're scared of passing the ball to him and ending with a turnover, it's a mental block they can't get over. That' just how it is, until Yao proves to be able to seal his man, it will be difficult getting him the ball inside, unless we sign all the best passers in the league to play in our backcourt (Kidd, Nash, everyone else). That entry pass is difficult enough to make, but when you have little confidence that your big man is going to be able to get the ball and hold it with his defender all over him, that's what's going to happen.
DAMN. Please someone call somebody.. the great swami, the justice league, hell the freaking geek squad.. someone has to have some freaking answers for how bad the Rockets are playing?!?! !#%?%!
Well this team as a whole has been very irritating tonight. Head actually threw up some ill-advised jumpers and did not pass Yao the ball when he was open. This could be a lottery bound season. They look completely discombobulated out there. JVG has NO CONTROL of this team. Calling timeouts every 2 minutes is not going to cut it.
i can't agree with that. maybe it's just me but statements like this (and i've heard a few) don't make any sense. if yao had 24 -13-4 tonight we wouldve won.
I understand your point, but I literally counted 3 seconds of WIDE OPEN YAO and either Head or Anderson or Barry were just staring at him and then they passed or dribbled away. It couldnt' be that tough to pass to even YAO in that situation.
Guys, these Ros are developing the habit of losing. They are just comfortable with losing right now. Rox are becoming Hawks.
alright the good news is that yao has no fouls yet... lets hope for a new record, yao with no foul in a game!!!
Why is it so hard to seal your man off. When I play, if i'm confronting a physical defender, I push him back and pretty much foul him back. What's wrong with being physical back and then fouling out for the half? I mean who really cares?
