Scola isn't defended like Yao is. He's got it easy. I think it's a very good sign that he has started to hit the midrange shot. With the attention that McGrady and Yao get, he will be left open. It may be too early to say this but judging from the last two games I think he's also improved his defense.

I think Scola feels pretty comfortable with a 1 on 1 defence on him and makes shoots with hign FG%, which will eventually help Yao' game, A LOT!!! :D

oh, i agree, but i think yao needs to throw an elbow or two, and then amare, and all the rest of the center wannabees, won't be so quick to stick teir hands, much less their faces, up in yao's. sure, he'll take a foul or two, perhaps a technical, but it will send a message. and if the referees clearly don't have his back, he needs to take it upon him self to, uhm, do the "right" thing.

Yes, I will, all the "yood" stuff that everyone is doing to him is affecting Yao's play in the NBA. I am perfectly willing to elaborate, but I am smart enough not to argue against people who I know know the truth, but will just deny it to your face when questioned about it, so I will just talk about it like this. You all know what's going on, its like the big elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about. And so do the refs, and that is why he doesn't get the calls that he deserves, and I am not talking about "superstar" treatment either, I am only talking about the calls that he deserves. We have all seen the replays where the ref calls an offensive or defensive foul on him, and there was no foul. I believe that if Yao were given a fair shake, by the refs, that he would be one of the top 10 players in the NBA.

It's pretty obvious that no matter how good he is or can become, he is the most hated player in the NBA, both by his own fans, opposing team's fans in other arenas, and the sports journalists, and that is only because of one reason and one reason only obviously--because he is Chinese.

i don't think that's the case man. don't bring up the race card. the reason most hesitate to call him the best big man or center is b/c he's 7'6 and he rarely dunks/gets blocks/stripped easily and doesn't dominate w/ power. i think many analysts have said that.

With all due respect, bull. And I won't argue anymore, because I know you all know the truth and are just covering it up to save face and keep propriety.

And I forgot to add in my second to last post, he is very much hated by a very important "sixth man", if you will, in the important game of NBA basketball--the American refs, who are crucial to any player;s success, and is definitely influencing his play and performance in the NBA.

I think Scola look very concerned and eager to end the current slide. As a Euro top player and someone carries his national team during the recent qualifying phase, one can see his desire to avoid losing tonight. This is attitude is good during playoff.

i'm asian dude and sometime i get frustrated w/ yao b/c he gets stripped/blocked/lose the ball/and does not dunk enough.

yao is the best center to me in the NBA bar none. but u don't think they call shawn bradley soft and makes fun of him whenever he gets dunked on.

it's not about race. ESPN makes fun of whoever gets embarrassed on often. stephen A smith disses kwame brown all the time for the way he can't catch a ball.

they admit yao is great too, but they don't think he's dominant enough b/c of the things i said.

if it's race, they would say yao sucks and he doesn't deserve it, which they don't.

He is already top 10. I agree that he doesn't get the calls, anyone knows that.

How do you attribute that to racism? That is where I am confused. It could just as easily be "sizism" or something like that.

Uh, it still does not matter whether or not you are Asian or not if you can't see the truth. Wisdom and understanding, even about Asian affairs, do not necessarily lie exclusively within the Asian race. Americans, including as I said before, the all-important refs, are definitely prejudiced against Yao, and that definitley influences their actions towards him. And you can't see that, and you are Asian, then with all due respect, you are definitely blind, because the Americans definitely know what they are doing against him, and they are doing it deliberately.

Take the ridiculous race talk to the D&D ... don't want it in the Rockets forum whatsoever.
