no I’ve watched lots of Mobley. He’s the rare rare bird that impacts the game almost by doing nothing. Barely seems like he’s trying. That’s the Duncan-esque qualities people were referring to. don’t get me wrong, switch the players and Mobley probably doesn’t look as good and Alpi looks better. But Alpi will never get to the defensive potential of Mobley just on length. I do believe Alpi has slightly more upside as a top option creator. Depends on development.
Alpi will be a STAR in this league once he get year of experience in the league and a offseason under his belt. He has a high basketball IQ, physical, elite passer and nice shooter. I think he will be a better shooter than Mobley and offense player but Mobley is a elite defender.
EGo said it right, these shetty rotations are a coach "question". As in everyone is questioning WTF the coach is thinking. Trade Wall + House + Garuba + Bucks FRP + 2024 Swap for Simmons, Danny Green & Korkmaz/Thybulle. Porter/Jalen/Augustin EGo/Korkmaz/Brooks DGreen/Tate/Nwaba Simmons/KJ Wood/Sengun/Theis Surround Porter with seasoned vets, let Simmons run starting 5. Let Sengun run 2nd unit w/Korkmaz helping with communication. Anything from Jalen vs bench players is gravy, no more unrealistic expectations. Send JC to Vipers.
I’m starting to wonder if there is some directive from up top to stick with the lineup. I don’t know or care if Stone or Tillman. But what coach, with a new roster with no track history, does not tinker with the starting lineup? The numbers are glaring. The eye test is glaring. It would make more sense for there to be some “stick with these guys so they can grow” directive as opposed to a head coach going through this in this way and thinking “no point in trying something new”. Both options are stupid but if Silas is the only one deciding this he doesn’t understand any sport, much less basketball.
