He missed the first 4 shots and you gave up your game plan? As I said before mav's game, you need to execute your game plan consistenly even with sub-par teams. You need to practice. You asked Yao to change his play style and you only gave him 4 chances in the game. That's ridiculous.
Great win ! It was worth waiting until 5 am for that. Yao finally had a good game even if he started poorly. He actually played almost the entire 2nd half (21 minutes)! It's about time he had more then 8 boards in a game too. Steve: 1 TO ! That alone is good enough for me. Cat: 8 assists, 0 TO ! see above... Rockets: 6-2 !!!!!!!!!! The NBA, i love this game....
Yes... oh my goodness, how did you guess I was Jeff Van Gundy??!! I'm not condoning a change of plans... but that was why they did it. You don't drain it, you don't get it as much. That's the way of the NBA. My point is that everyone cries foul every time Yao gets less shots... well sometimes it's because he hasn't produced early. Even Dream had on and off spurts. By the way it's called "plan B" for a reason... yes, you do in fact change "plans" temporarily until you can reestablish your original game plan, after a lead change, or after you get the game in hand. Your assumption was ridiculous... I'm not on the floor, or oin the coaching staff.
Funny, how can you not be JVG since you know Rox's secrets? OK. I just want to say why they should not change their game plan after Yao's first 4 shots did not fall.
All I can say is that I'm really happy that we managed to squeeze out a win. Otherwise the team might have gone in a tailspin. We have a lot of weaknesses because of our lack of frontcourt toughness and problems at the point, and we are also missing Mo,A.Griffin and Pike. I just hope that Mo won't goof up again and will remain healthy through the rest of the year after he completes the suspension. I'ts going to take Pike and A.Griffin time to get set but the sooner they can come back from their injuries the better for us.
Id just like to say that im glad almost everyone (except mooch and meech) on this team is earning their money, especially Cato on his scrappiness. We've got quite a team considering we're under the cap, now how about that trade exception, are amaechi's days numbered?
Wow was that the CAT with 8 assists? Damn look at the result a W! Maybe he realizes there is more to the game then him just scoring. Good win tonight and my first appearence at the Toyota Center. Good atmosphere in there in the 2nd half. Go Rockets!
Nice link. It was fun to read how the Suns fans trash talk against the Rox. And some people over there read this forum cause they made some comments ...
Actually, the Rockets' freethrow sucked tonight. Yao, last season a 81% freethrow shooter, hit 5/8 FT. Mobley, a 85% freethrow shooter, hit 4/8 FT Francis, a 80% freethrow shooter, hit 6/8 FT
Last season: Amare: 13.5 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.1 bpg (47.2% FG in 31.3 minutes) Ming: 13.5 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 1.7 apg, 1.8 bpg (49.8% FG in 29.1 minutes) So far this season: Amare: 15.8 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 0.1 apg, 1.9 bpg (41.7% FG in 34.7 minutes, taking 13.5 shots per game) Ming: 15.6 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 2.0 apg, 2.5 bpg (50.0% FG in 32 minutes, taking just 11.5 shots per game) Yeah, we all can see how Amare is "dominating". Those of you who had watched last season's 4 matchups between the 2 guys know who outplayed who. Hehe...
Dude, are you sure Cato blocked Amare 3 times? I was watching the game, I thought it was 4 times, but I could be wrong.
I was so SHOCKING when I saw Cat made a pass deep inside to Yao for a basket for 2. I even asked myself, was that really Cat who made the pass? It was.
