replacing lin with canaan and daniels means less offense created for others, but

i get that dmo doesn't seem any better and papa seems like another casspi, but i would take adrien and black over asik. neither one is better than omer but together they give us a quicker, more versatile interior defense off the bench.

losing lin and parsons hurt the offense because they created so much for themselves and others, but i'm not worried about the rockets ability to create offense. their run n gun style will generate enough.

what worried me last year was the defense and 3 point shooting. for a team that lives off of the 3, we were actually a poor 3pt shooting team. ariza, daniels, and canaan should be an improvement in that area from parsons and lin.

 

Yes, it killed our 4th ranked offense.

I think Kostas Papniko is not another Casspi, he is a lot more defensive guy but probably not as good offensively his first year

Damn, cuts are going to be hard this year. No one is really providing consistently but most everyone has had a good game so far.

Black is definitely making this team. I'm scared if we let him go and try to sign him to Rio Grande, someone is going to snatch him away.

It's between Adrien or Dorsey, Powell, Mitchell, and Ish or Canaan. If Canaan keeps his stride, Ish is going to get cut. Same for Ish, if Canaan struggles.

I thought that to myself until I realized we will never see that starting lineup against another starting lineup. Also, when Garcia got replaced with Ariza and suddenly everything was clicking.

I think these bench guys are all serviceable when you play them with the stars.

 

Ugly first half. But we played good defense which kept us in it.

For the bench's sake I hope KPap develops quickly. If I'm coach McHale I try to have at least one of Harden/Howard on the floor almost all the time.

DMo didn't look quite as good tonight, was in the right place at the right time a bunch though.

Want to see Johnson continue to raise his confidence.

Daniels is a damn good shooter, kind of surprised he isn't out there with that 2nd unit more often.

Dorsey... well I wasn't too impressed. He's got to turn it around soon or he will be cut.

Good insights, I can't stop raving about Black. I see something special in him. Hard to believe that he was undrafted.

 

Canaan has the worst case of tunnel vision since JR Smith. Idiot won't pass out of a double team when he's on a fast break with like two other wide open cutters. Can he fix it? I suppose. But it's not like court vision magically is granted to certain players after they accrue so many games in the NBA. Stupid is as stupid does.

Yea and he was given the start and didn't do much of anything.

Black has come in since his first game and played well.

The way things are going now, Dorsey will get cut. But we have five more games to figure it out.

Yeah, but Canaan is a pure scorer(not really a PG, again similar to DB)....If he's not dealt, he'll (along with Daniels) be knocking down plenty of threes this year....lots of room to operate when playing with our studs.

 

Wasn't a Canaan fan last season, still not a fan. I'm also harboring some animosity because of all the nut huggers playing armchair QB alleging Canaan to be the best thing since sliced bread.

 

our team is looking better than I thought. cant wait for the season to start!
