I don't think they are much much better. Just there aren't many disiplined NBA players right now, not to mention the Rockets. Everyone is a star, that's the problem. It doesn't matter one or another play is ugly, it's all about percentage. I will take 50% over 30% any given day or night. As simple as that. From the very beginning, all the posters on bbs said we need to control Nash, slow them down. But from T-Mac, Bob, etc our beloved players, all we hear were that we are going to play uptempo, that's us. Well, that spells L-O-S-E. All the ball games are the same, Matchups, if you play others' game, you make others "much much better".

And, nobody blame Mr. SURA? Do you guys think he is a good shooter as he thinks himself? Seems the only thing he can do is to grab defensive rebound in this season.

Yao for Amare straight up might be a solution. TMac + Amare can win more games (no rings) for sure. Suns with Yao might win less games in the regular season, but they sure have a better chance in the post season than with Amare in a half court offense.

No!! the reason why we lost is that T-mac take 25 shot and only make 8. This how it goes, the person who take the most shot should take the blame for lost or win. Yao and Mutumbo own Amare today and if it wasn't for the lucky 3 , we got this game.
But why the hell are we missing so many open three.

Yao gets 1 shot in the first 7 1/2 minutes of the first quarter.

    simply ridiculous.

you cannot expect to win this game, when your biggest advantage is frozen out.

That's one of the things that drives me crazy about JVG. Most of the time, regardless of the score, JVG always seems to have Yao's minutes set in stone. It drives me up the wall. If a player's hot leave him in the damn game.

Team stats are virtually identical, except Phoenix's 3 pt shooting. And Rockets actually had +5 on offensive rebounds.

Can TMAC shoot closer to 44%?

Can TMAC not take so many threes on the break?

Can TMAC stop faking and running away from the contact when he could draw so many fouls?

Can TMAC please pass up the shot and pass it down low to an established Yao in the post?

Can TMAC play just a little harder on defense, average just ain't gonna cut it on this team?

I guess I'm just frustrated tonight, but I'm not sold on TMAC yet.

Too many games where his poor shooting is just killing us. If you're not making your shots, you need to find others.

I was anxious but truthfully, I never felt we were in the game.

It felt like the Suns were a Tiger and we were a little ball on a string being batted around at their leisure.

We have a long way to go, the defensive strategy we employed was all wrong.

San Antonio stopped double teaming and went straight man to man, and shut them down, it stopped their wide open shots.

We kept switching and getting speed mismatches, I felt we should have defended the 3 pt line and make Nash beat you as a shooter rather than a passer.

Also, got to pound them on offense inside the paint.

I wish Tmac would quit the little stop and pump fake, and start going up strong to the rack to get the foul calls, he is playing a little soft these days.

Yao needs to play more aggressive but everyone already knew that.

Overall, a good game to watch, but we are not close to being in the Suns league, those guys are good.

Maybe when Tmac finds his shot, and Yao decides to play like a big we may have a chance but right now the Suns are a lot better than us.

My thoughts exactly. If JVG abides by his schedule of minutes for Yao so strictly, give him the ball then please in those minutes.

A few random thoughts fromthe game

Well congrats to the Suns, they certainly beat us. But somehow I really don't feel to bad about that double digit loss. Seems like they were setting a record for three pointers, while we were riming out. On top of some obvious Rocket misses, TMac had a bad day. Call me a hopeless romantic, but I would take my chances against them in a seven game series.

"Snapper" Jones simply is the best and most prepared color man in the business.

It certainly was an exciting pace. I was exausted with about five minutes left in the seciond quarter. But I guess I am just weird, I really prefer a strong defensive battle to all those outside shots. In a defensive battle, every possesion become so important. In a game like this, any fault can be made up on the next shot (about five seconds away).

I like Andre Barret. He makes just enough shots to be tantalizing. If he could clean that up, his fast pace would make up for his defensive liabilites.

That play really crystallized, at zero absolute temperature, Yao's inconsistency. How could any, and I do mean any NBA players, with hands bigger than many of your Yao-haters' brain, drop that pass. It's not like you trying to catch a golf ball.

Realistically, we lost because we shot 8-28 from 3 point land while they shot 15-34. in our past 3 wins, the most we took in one game was 20. I have no idea what happened that made the Rockets think they can make it into a shooting battle with the suns. Was it fear? Panick? Idiocy?

Everyone didn't play up the level they were playing at when they were winning.

And Andre Barrett....is JVG stupid? I didn't watch the whole game (1st and end of 3rd and the 4th) but what made JVG believe that Barrett could help us win?

If it's just me being in denial, so be it. But the Rockets, if on an off shooting night, loss because of the 3 and I can live with that.
