There is no star that wants to player here. There is no start that will be wanting to play here in 3 years.
We should....how does a dude saying he's gonna play in a meaningless regular season game and injuring himself furthe inspire confidence, you are saying dumb **** right now.
It definitely is. You are scared to take risks when we are rebuilding. And its just....you guys really dont understand the position we are in. You are not serious about winning because you are so worried about giving a pick to OKC in a coin flip.....nah, you dont win this way.
There's a 52% of the Rockets keeping their own pick if they finish with one of the THREE worst records in the league. If they finish with the fourth worst record, those odds drop to 48%. Just a 42% chance if they finish with the fifth worst record. It drops to 37% if they finish with the sixth worst record. 32% with the seventh worst record. The odds fall precipitously after that.
ODDS OF A TOP 4 FINISH Worst records 1-3 52% (it is the exact same for all three positions) 4th 48% 5th 42% 6th 37% 7th 32% 8th 23% 9th 23% The Rockets are currently 4th, so currently we have a 50% chance of keeping our pick and getting a top 4 pick, which would be a MASSIVE get for the Rockets. Even all the way down to 8-9 there is still nearly a 25% chance of getting a top 4 pick. Everyone is concerned about ending the season with a poor record and losing the pick but that is sunk cost. People should consider the advantage of being able to get a keep a top 4 pick in this draft. Cade Cunningham, Evan Mobley, Jonathan Kuminga, Jalen Suggs, Jalen Green and Usan Garuba all are viable in the top 4.... Possibly even the younger Bagely.
1. Winning the title is different from tanking for top 4of a draft pick. 2. 20% chance is too low. If you think thats great odds care to make 500 usd 80/20 double or nothingbet with me? You cant say no since you think thats great odds, Nets just gave up 7 years of draft capital for 20% so it must be great right?
You guys still having that weird debate over whether or not we should tank on a team thats gonna lose anyway lol
Yeah its all viable...for OKC which is more likely what would happen if you dont get the top 4 pick. A sunk cost is cost you can't avoid already. If you think giving the pick to OKC is a SUNK COST that means all the more you shouldnt tank cuz it is inevitable you are giving your pick to OKC. I dont think you understand what sunk cost means lol. Everybody knows the advantage of getting a top 4 pick in this or any draft, problem is there is a high chance you dont get the pick so where is the advantage there? The advantage is not guaranteed. Rox are indeed worst 4 right now so why we need to even do anything? You get 50/50 by default so theres your gamble. Its not like the Rox are gonna trade pieces to win now so what you want them to do?
what are your thoughts on the legitimacy of the lottery process? just as recently as a couple summers ago (fakers and pels) seems to imply these percentage probabilities are likely bogus AF
You gotta stop ignoring probability to predict an outcome that will happen because you are pessimistic. Its worth the tank. Woods and Tate are not going to be here in 3 years anyways. They will get paid and we will not be contenders. WE NEED TALENT. Stop hoping we are gonna strike big on a low first.
