his style of play didn't compliment the rockets' style. he probably can't shoot 3's for ****. he's doing well in a run n' gun system, because not much is emphasized on d,

So, a player like Rafers play 14-15 minutes straight? Whats wrong with that? He is a little guy. He SHOULD be able to do that with NO PROBLEMS. I see Kobe doing it all the time.

Lets talk about do you see YAO play 14-15 minutes straight? No, you dont. BIG players don't play those minutes that the SMALLER ones do. Its nature. Those little guys can go ALL DAY and should be able to handle it.

Talk to me when you see YAO or any of our PF's play straight into the 2nd quarter on a consistant basis.

I don't see Nash coming out after 8 minutes either. Unless a team has huge depth, its more the NORM to keep players in than not.

I agree. It really looked like Bonzi could do some damage. He needs to be emphasized more. He's an incredible post up option. But it takes our guards so long to get him the ball and they hesitate way too much. He needs more set plays designed to turn him loose.

I do like JLIII. He can obviously put points on the board. The question is at what expense? When he's off, it's bad. He misses the shot and dominates the ball on top of bad defense. When he's hitting, it's good, although he still leaves teammates standing around setting picks and running backwards. And after a few possessions, the better teams are going to choke off his drives and shot attempts and force him to his weakness which is distribution. Then the whole offense is left scrambling because he has chewed up the clock.

He's not the answer at the point. Good kid. But not the answer.

We held the the Phoenix Suns -- the NBA's highest scoring team @111 per game -- to 100 points: A) without our two best players (Yao & McGrady); B) playing the 2nd game in 2 nights and 4 games in 6 nights; C) against an opponent that was well rested (didn't play the previous night, no 4 games in 5 days) and had its starting 5 intact.

Even though the Rockets lost the game, their effort and competitiveness was fantastic. Nash had 6 turnovers and Phoenix had 18 total -- great job by the Rockets' defense. D'Antoni only used 7 players in his rotation, which is also telling.

I'll take that kind of effort from the Rockets every game. And if Houston had made just a few more shots (better shot selection on several occasions would have helped), who knows?

The key to play Suns is to pound the ball inside and make them foul. Just make them defend and tire them out so that they won't have much energy to run. If you take quick shots and they get rebound, you'll see them score. Attack Nash - Number one goal; Attack Stoudmire - Number two goal. Just make them work both end.

Agreed, but that's easier said then done when you have a few players that can be baited into taking (bad) shots early in the shotclock.

Somebody dust off the old tapes of Denver Nugget games when Doug Moe was coaching and the Nuggets averaged 114 ppg (1982). And that was when the 3pt line was WAY out there, so Denver only attempted 149 3pt shots that season.

I loved this game. Missing our two stars, Bonzi getting his first minutes in a long time, Juwan's first off-night in quite some time, and we still played a very close game. I can't complain.

I'm not a JLIII fan, but he has the highest FG% amongst the guards in our team, so him taking all the shots is not that bad of an idea. Bonzi can't hit the 3 so he's useless when we're trying to catch up. He's also out of shape and turnover prone, so his defender can just step back and intimidate him on taking a perimeter shot. Usually crunchtime is the time when 1 player steps up for the team. Not saying that it has to be JLIII, but there aren't many other good candidates.

I don't mind having JLIII on our bench but if we could get someone better I'll go for it! if not thats fine!! Now the reason JLIII has high FG% is cuz he doesn't play alot of minutes resulting in less shots attempted, if we let him play more minutes than what he's getting I garantee it'll go down big time, thats why he he's not a starter!
