yeah and when rox had yao and tmac, they beat the rox. yao was denied the ball the whole night, or supposedly he was according to some. these statements make it hard to find comfort in, it's like, yeah it wasn't good enough but... so what is the excuse next time rox play suns? suns can deny the ball? they are too quick? rox guards aren't adept, tmac, needs to assert himself? dunno

I agree. I guess we should be happy the role players showed up and made it a close game, but this team always seems to leave it's best cards on the table.

V-span is chopped liver. Guy should've stayed in Greece where he could sniff the court. One more observation about our defense is it seems we are a much better defensive team in the 1st half. I know this was a back to back but the guys were slow to rotate on all those 3's Barbosa and Bell were jacking up.

Saying it's a lost cause if Bonzi is gone is kinda far-off.. we'd still have Tracy and Yao IF both are healthy. And IF JHoward can sustain his play, and IF Head becomes our spark off the bench, we'd be going places. Easily without Bonzi.

sorry, but i disagree, JHO has been good, but he is not an offensive presence, head can't create his own shot, he is undersized, and he is not a PG.

if you think that JHO and head are better role players than Bonzi then you haven't seen Bonzi play.

JLIII is pathetic. He is now a ball hogger who has no ability to score.

I'd like Bonzi to play more, too since it is obvious he is the most talented player in the team other than Yao & Tmac. But I definately disagree that our role players didn't show up tonight. On the 2nd night of a back-to-back against the 2nd best team of the whole league, they kept the game close until 2, 3 mins left in the game, I'd say they definately showed up and it was also for sure a TEAM effort.

I agree with you that JHo isn't an offensive presence, but if he can consistently hit the midrange shot for 10-14pts per game, that's effective enough.

And while Head can't make his own shot, playing with Tracy and Yao, I see more of a catch and shoot role, so all he'd be doing would be to float around trying to get open.

There's no way that either are better than Bonzi, we've all seen what damage Bonzi can do, but I'm saying that with a full healthy roster, losing Bonzi wouldn't be completely harm our playoff chances.

The potential with Bonzi can almost make you drooling all over the place. It'd be a big loss if we can not retain him and get him 100% back in game shape. If that happens, I will have to blame JVG. And what attitude problems people are talking about? So far he's been playing tough with all the right attitude.

Gotta agree here. We won't make it far in the playoffs without a deep bench coming in the form of Bonzi and Snyder

I really don't freaken understand why bonzi only played like 19 min tonight. I know he hasn't played awhile but he was having a good game! If i remember correctly, the rockets was up by 15 points before he was replaced. WTF, I can't believe coach played JLIII more.

Most of the night it should have been:

    alston
    head
    bonzi
    battier
    hayes

Losing Bonzi would be disastrous. Before the season started, when I realized that the only real moves we had made after our abysmal last season were adding Snyder (a developing talent) and Battier I was disappointed. I thought that adding Snyder and Battier would not make much of a difference because I really don't think they are as good as the role players we had in our last playoff run: Sura, Wesley, Barry, and Mike James. Those guys were a big reason for why we did well in 2004-2005 season. Now an especially scary thought is that Tmacs back problems are really holding him down in both ability (he scores mostly on Js now) and on his longetivity.

Now that Bonzi is added to the team, we have something we have NEVER had in the Yao-Tmac Era- a 3d scorer. Bonzi brings to the table what players like Mike James and Bob Sura bought to the Rockets in 04-05. I strongly believe that if we go into the playoffs facing either the Suns, Mavs, or Spurs with just the current Tmac+ Yao+ Alston+ Head+ Howard we will be first round fodder.

It's like he's auditioning for the other teams. Chill, Lucas, you're not a 10-day anymore. You're here for 2 years. So start playing like you have the best interest of the team at heart and not just your own.

The fact is we're screwed in playoffs cuz believe it or not Tracy can't play his fullest ANYMORE and thats exactly what we will be expecting from him in playoffs and for most he'll give us his fullest in 1 or 2 games then his back will start acting up again. The more deeper we go the more chellanging games will get in playoffs, we all agree to that! so how in the world is tmac suppose to keep it up asuming his back didn't collapse in 1st round!!!!!!!

You know I just thought about everything I mentioned above and now im more depressed about this season than bush being our president! :(

And he played JLIII and Alston for a significant period of time. They are both undersized PG's. What is the point with that? If we wanted to jack up 3's, I think we've got some body named Novak maybe a better choice.

Is there still something sore between JVG and Bonzi?
