ClutchFans Game Thread: Spurs @ Rockets 5/11/2017 (Playoffs Round 2, Game 6)

Most NBAers will tell you Harden's Game 6 is why the Rockets fail miserably than Spurs defense. 9 of 11 shots were 3 pointers, it shows laziness. He only went to the FT line only 6 times, he gets to the line at lot more than that. I'm guessing D"Antoni will not want to look back at this game because his star played to lose.

 

Well THAT was hard to watch. . . .

 

They led the league in 3 point shooting because they take better 3s than the rockets who throw it up mindlessly at will.

The rockets half-court offense is not good a lot of the time. Pop's teams are always better in the half-court than in transition because that's what he stresses.

 

And the Rockets couldn't push the pace because they couldn't get rebounds over their twin towers. The Rockets half-court offense isn't that great and it's not surprising because they have literally one all-star player. Outside of Harden, who is even capable of creating their own shot? Even Harden struggled at times to do that this series in part thanks to good Spurs defenders and rim protection. We thought Gordon and Williams could create their own shots but they were awful instead.

 

I really want to know what happened behind the screen. Why Harden and the almost the whole team played like that? They cant just dissapeared like that... They got to this point with all the hard work, they seemed to be having fun together..and to lose it all in one and so important game? doesnt add up....

 

Game 5 broke their spirit.

 

They did not fight, they quitted from very beginning. You can tell this from # of fouls, I know a lot people will laugh at this gauge, most of the time it indeed the best indicator of defense effort.

 

Manu gave the Rockets some of his bad sausage. =/

 

I also feel something definitely happened, they did not play tight defense at all, you can tell from number of fouls, normally for this kind of situation, one of two guys will foul out.

 

Yup. strange game. Harden was the only person with more than 3 fouls and he fouled so he can get out of the game or to not play D

Houston cannot keep all time shooting accurate vs Spurs. Houston,should improve in defence and trade some all stars for their center and power forward

 

You know what, I was completely pissed at Harden, but at least he stood up and said "This is on my shoulders, both ends of the floor."

He didn't make excuses. He didn't give the whole "It's my fault people ordered Heinekens and got Budweisers" speech. He even gave the Spurs credit and said they did a great job.

I can respect that.

That soothed me a little bit. I'm still incredibly disappointed he played the way he did, but I can at least give him the benefit of the doubt on it. Maybe he just didn't have it tonight.

 

nah F this new york cornball. hes no rockets fan. at least captainjackass is a mavs fan so he can say crap like that. this dochebag sounds like a westbrook d-rider who couldn't wait for harden to have a bad game.

 

Same man. Was hell of season & good times! Still numb though. Stros will get me through it until next season... I hope.

I thought clutchfans was bad tonight, Jesus reddit the absolute worst. Bunch of Rockets fans and NBA fans who straight up hate the Rockets and James Harden. idiots who don't understand basketball...

I would much rather lose to the Spurs than the warriors. I am sick and tired of losing to the Warriors. At least we lose to a real NBA team and not some b**** ass team like the Warriors who formed in the gayest way possible. The spurs drafted all of their other players and they have smart coaching.

GSW won their title with a drafted team though, don't underrate their front office and accomplishments.
