Technically, yea. OK. But a Spurs team with Parker, Duncan and Manu all playing is hardly something you would call undermanned.
LMAO about DMO. Man sometimes I wonder what DMO is doing. He has airballed a ton, it seems like he doesn't really look at the rim and just does his move quickly and rushes everything. He should alos stop taking 3 pointers and give the extra pass. I get it, you're wide open, but I prefer him to drive to draw a foul instead, of a 3pointer that will brick. It's painful to see. I like him but he needs to work on that shot more before putting up so many attempts
a C- isn't too far off from what I would give him. Let's not inflate his grade here. C, maybe C+. But it wasn't like he was making an incredible impact. So that grade is fair. He should get at least 25minutes though to 30 in the playoffs. to let him see what he can do off the bench.
I rarely agree with this guy, but he nailed it here. Alot of yall have no respect for SA....big mistake. They havent been as good as they are just because of Parker and Duncan....its all on Pop's system. It doesnt matter who is in, they still run the same system, they make the same great passes, great ball movement for the best shot available no matter if its the starters or the third string. The fact that we took 4-0 from them with various combinations on the floor for both teams(missing starters in more than one game on both sides) says alot about the Rockets ability to step it up when they need to. but make no mistake, the Rockets arent anywhere near title contenders, Spurs are. They have the depth and talent to win it all(I personally think they do this year) and for the Rockets to be anywhere near them says good things about our future.
Parker and Duncan, with Bev/Lin and Howard/Asik, we can handle. It's the role players that will be the problem. Kawhi Leonard, Danny Green, Tiago Splitter, those guys don't look that great on paper, but in Pop's system, they are made stars like. And experience is huge in playoff, we aren't the same level in playoff experience as near half of the league, and Spurs are probably as experienced as you get in this league. We need to bring our A games to them, be physical and out hustle them to win the series.
When Harden got schooled by Ginoboli on the dangling arm thing I almost choked out laughing. Ginoboli does the same thing with other opponents and I think Manu knows all about James eurostep as well.
Dam good win last night. Love the fact that we swept the Sperms. MVP: Dwight Howard Where is old man JTR and Basketballholic, told you two T. Jones plays the Sperms big men pretty darn well.
I believe everybody on here respects the Spurs. We believe and is very confident that we could beat them in a 7 game series. If you looked at each game you will see we match up with them pretty darn well. OKC is a matchup problem for them as well, that is why they swept them to.
I tend to agree that a lot of people are underrating the Spurs and overrating the significance of these regular season wins. Their starters are strong. Our starters are strong. However, their bench is better than some starting lineups in this league, while we rarely get quality production from our bench other than Lin/Asik. Somebody like an OKC or a Miami -- you can say, OK, the plan is to contain KD/Russ and Lebron/Wade and make someone else beat you. If it happens, you live with that... but the odds of a Jeremy Lamb or a Norris Cole bringing enough to spin a series are slim. Spurs, on the other hand, have a ton of weapons at their disposal. I think we do a decent job of limiting Duncan/Parker, but then there's Mills. And Kawhi. And Tiago. And Danny. And Belinelli. And Fat Boris Diaw, who is inexplicably prone to catching fire. They have a damn arsenal.
I also think it was a tactical move for them to sit Kawhi last night... I imagine he'll be on Harden if we meet in the 2nd round, and it would have been nice (for us) to get a feel for how they plan on trying to contain him.
Spurfan cracks me up. Excuses excuses. " not worried last night we almost beat there starters with our bench" blah blah. Lol. How convenient of pops to "rest" his starters. A convenient way to discredit yet another beat down we handed to them. Not saying it really wasnt his intention since they do stuff like this all the time, but they got swept and you get excuses from their fan base for every one of those 4 losses. I believe they wanted this one tbh. No team likes to get swept by competitive nature.
Can you blame the Spurs fans for whining about this loss and/or being swept in the regular season? They are so used to winning and the status quo...which means mostly dominating the Rockets in past seasons. They are not gracious losers because they are spoiled by winning. I can't say I blame them. And, yes, the playoffs are an entirely different story if these two teams meet. Being a Spurs fan has to have a strong degree of arrogance because their team is near the top every season for as long as I can remember. They are not gracious about losing. You will never see a Spurs fan say "good game" and leave it at that. There is always a "but..." with reasons it don't matter. It would be nice to encounter a gracious Spurs fan who just accepts a loss because their team didn't play well enough to win regardless of who was on the floor. But, that's not reality because Spurs fans are used to steam-rolling the competition.
Was it just me or was Dwert's D better than Asik's? I've noticed Asik's D being particularly bad the last couple of games. He's playing the high post too much and opponents are getting a layup drill.
The Suns are out and at 47 wins, would be 5th seed in the Leastern Conference. Even the T-Wolves would make the playoffs in the Least over the Hawks.
Good game Rockets. Look forward to playing y'all in the second round, especially that the Rockets have been avoiding the Spurs for so long in the postseason . I believe the Spurs will be fine in a seven game series. Spurs spacing last night seem so bad without Green, or Leonard out there which seemed to get us in a hole on offense. As great as defender Kawhi is for some reason he can't guard Harden. When the Spurs played well against Houston, Green was on Harden and Kawhi was on Parsons. Hopefully Pop will notice that, and the Spurs should be fine. Terrence Jones worries me the most, so I hope Diaw brings his A game on the defensive end against him. I still say Spurs in six if everyone stays healthy, and Spurs aren't bothered by the first round like the last two years of opponents.
