It was only "a footnote in the asskicking."

I think thats as close as we can get to JVG using scatological terms.

No, he did not have good minutes tonight. He threw one pass into the bleachers. He dribbled into a double team and turned it over and then he had a pass tipped that went out of bounds and the refs didn't see it.

So, I won't staunch that he had good minutes. He looked like he was running around like a chicken with his head cut off. Those last 8 or 9 minutes was simply whoever touched the bball went one on one with it.

And this is not justification for VSpan but what in the world play were they running that looked like the old figure 8 weave in high school except they were running from side to side with it out top? That looked totally stupid. Why didn't we run pick and roll from the top? I know it was garbage time, but it doesn't make sense to run some helter skelter offense for 10 minutes.

    Whatever.

Not having a decent PG on the floor can make your offense look that way.

V-Span played PG for the first 5 minutes of the 4th quarter tonight, I applaud JVG for giving him a look.

Unfortunatly V-span drank from the same suck ass Koolaid that the rest of the team had....

The Rockets just stunk tonight top to bottom.

Yeah, see Rafer and Luther. They were both atrocious.

Why in the world Van Gundy stuck with them so long is beyond me. It was obvious from the first half that we needed to have Kirk Snyder on the floor the entire 24 minutes of the 2nd half along with McGrady to have a chance. And it was obvious that we should be taking it to the hole every possession. Yet we come out the 2nd half throwing up more jump shots, until we are dead, buried, and forgotten. And then the scrubs get in.

    This is curious.....

Less than 24 hours age, the Rockets played Denver and our defense held them to 97 points. JVG said, "When we play defense, we win, We will score plenty of points."

    Apparently, he was wrong.

Tonight, we held our opponent to the exact same score and we suffered "an ass-whipping".

I like JVG, but he must learn to value offense as much as he values defense.

I was really surprised when he said this!

    I mean it's not like 80-85 points

its freakin 97 points, even tho Denver can run the game pretty much as some other fast paste teams, we did not have to allow them 97 points!

Now that I've fully recovered and calmed down from last nite(thanks to alcohol and p*rn) I can safely say that we sucked. This guy just about sums it up for us(minus the last part)

In yesterdays game we were able to see that Tim Duncan is a great Power Forward and that he is not a true center. Unfortunatly we were trying to guard him with inferior Power Forwards or over the hill /and or inferior Centers. In the offseason the problem of starting Power Forward should be addressed, as well as starting Playmaker Point Guard and possibly who will be the Head Coach.

Don't think there'll be a PF available in the offseason who isn't inferior to Tim Duncan.

This illustrates the problem with thinking defense is measured by how many points you give up per game. When we played Denver, they had about 99 possessions. When we played the Spurs (who play at a much slower pace), they had about 85 possessions. So, we allowed approx. 98 points per 100 possessions to Denver (a very good defensive effort), but allowed approx. 114 points per 100 possessions to San Antonio (a terrible defensive effort).

For perspective, see the rankings for defensive efficiency here. The number 1 defensive team (Rockets) allow 100.9 points per 100 poss on the season, while the worst defensive team (Grizzlies) allow 113.5.

Hold on, isn't that one of the things that JVG Haters kept asking for? When things go wrong, yall wanted JVG to get creative and try something new. Well, he did that last night and now people are asking, "Where's the pick and roll from the top"?? C'mon now, at least stay consistent with your hate. :D
