You can critize the team even when they are winning. Winning doesn't mask our faults, that is if we want to win a championship. If our expectations for this team is any less, that is the day when we are happy to suffer in mediocrity. I hope that day never comes. I am frankly pleasantly surprised at how we have overachieved w/o yao. If not for Motumbo and Juwan's revitalized game, we would of never amassed as many wins as we have now. Fact is though, if we have to rely on two players that are 35(?) and 41 respectively, we have a serious problem. Then on top of that. Head and Alston are both so erratic and average to below average in terms of basketball IQ... it is not even funny. You add the pieces together and that is already half our rotation. The only proven commodities that are still in their prime are Bonzi and Snyder (ppl are going to blast me for saying this, but at least you can expect what he brings every night). Just my 2 cents.
Actually, I like the idea of posting Snyder against the guards. Snyder has the athletic ability to overpower his defenders.
Tracy is MVP. What a 1 st quatr...N/C Rafer, Juwan, SHane... Come on. We must all play great ofense and DEFENSE. Now a GREAT DEFENSE and great performance for all Rockets.
One thing JVG definitely needs to incorporate more into his system is the motion offense. Our guys shouldn't just keep standing there and hope T-Mac would just make another tough shot with two guys in his grill, they should keep moving around until someone gets open. Of course, we would have to knock down open shots (Rafer) to make that work.
Please take Rafer out of this game for good. I don't care if we win or lose, I just don't want to break something before this game is over with. Here's a proposal: play less Rafer/Head and instead play Mac more at the point, then put Snyder/Head and Battier/Head with him on the court at all times.
I want T-mac out, T-mac getting injured in a blowout loss to the Spurs IS NOT something I look forward to.
We really do live and die by our outside shooting (i.e. our guards' play). Another beautiful pass by Rafer for the TO...possibly even the TKO. I should also give honorable mention to Shane Battier for his stellar play...
