Not enough said about Parsons' great D on Tony Parker...played great positional D stopping one of TP's drives and forcing him to pass, then made it impossible for the Spurs to pass him the ball on the final play. I was hesitant watching TP go up against Parsons in the final minute, but he's quick and long enough to really bother TP's shot. Not to mention the gamechanging 3 that cut the lead to one. And Harden - what an amazing shot! The only qualm I have about that is I looked it over about 20 times and no matter how many times I looked Harden was looking to draw the foul...shot was made so much more difficult because of that. He did get fouled, but refs are not going to call that kind of foul with 5 seconds left on the shot clock.
Benchmark win for the young Rockets. We were probably looking at the "old" and the "new" of the NBA. Thankfully, we are the new. If Morey will just be patient and not turnover the team every year, I think we will see real progress. Hey, Morey the word is "tweak!"
That terrible defense by Kawai Leonard...I'm sure Pop is going to yell at him and beat him silly for not getting inbetween Harden and the ball...
Also, look at Omer Asik set the screen and run the floor to box out Tim Duncan....if Harden had missed, Asik would've been in prime position to stuff it back in.
True. However, I'm not saying either team is going to be easy...just that people seem to be dissing SA. Both are good shooting teams, but SA is the better of them two.
@Jonathan_Feigen Asik had 14 rebounds, giving him 49 games w double-digit rebounds, most for Hou since Hakeem (63) in 93-94, a pretty good Rockets season.
Jeremy Lin Injured His Knee A Year Ago Today Summary: Knicks Doctors suck Subplot: maybe it’s good that McHale benched Lin so much Quote: Last week, Iman Shumpert felt a pop in his surgically repaired knee in Wednesday’s win over the woeful Orlando Magic. The situation is almost eerily similar to Lin’s injury last year. And yes, again, the Knicks are insisting it’s no big deal, that Shumpert probably just popped a scar tissue, the Knicks trainer said. Why do the Knicks continue to do this? Rasheed Wallace injured his foot in December, and the Knicks kept telling fans he’d be back, he’d be back, for weeks, until it was announced that Wallace had likely played his last ever NBA game. Kurt Thomas felt pain in his foot two weeks ago, the Knicks insisted he was fine, and last week, Thomas was revealed to have a stress fracture, and his season is likely done. Carmelo Anthony suffered what the Knicks claim to be a minor knee injury two weeks ago. Mike Woodson wouldn’t take him out of the game, in fact. And then what happened? Melo’s knee problems got worse and he ended up missing a week of games and had to have his knees drained.
Anyone noticed that Parsons played 45 minutes.....man McFail is really milking him out. As big as this game for the Rockets, no single player on the Spurs team played more than 25 minutes.
Lin has to stay healthy, so he can have a full off-season to work on his shooting, including corner 3s.
