The Spurs will beat us in 6 or 7, that leaves some chance of luck. OKC and the Clippers will beat us in 5 or less.

Asik was a beast today! He was definitely key to the win.

Parker is a world class point guard, no doubt. But Beverley is quicker than Lin, and in the first half, he was able to force Parker to stay out of the paint. Jeremy got burned on a couple key fourth quarter possessions. Lin lacks the foot speed to stay with Parker constantly, as do most players.

Great win! Can't believe it! We rarely win these close games, so it's a nice change! I hope we go back to fastbreak basketball against the Pacers. Their halfcourt D is too suffocating...

Oh of course I would like the Grizz over anyone else but it's not like they're an option IMO. They will drop a bit due to Gasol's injury.
But CisBuds, you know realistically this year the Rockets aint beating anyone to get past the 1st round lol
Clippers and Thunder have OWNED and BLOWN out the Rockets this year (except that 1 Thunder game we won) At least with the Spurs all games have been very close.

Thunder and Clippers are just so damn athletic, they'll have a lobs and uncontested dunks all game long. :(

omg all the traffic has made the forum look an absolute mess :p

The Spurs do not horse around in the regular season. They've had one of the best records in the league for years now. But, I do agree, we should not want to play them in the playoffs. This is an experienced monster of a team.

i don't see us sliding down to 8th, and it's a coin toss as to whether the Spurs stay #1

Not going to happen with his current 11 touches per game...no one can. The assists might be possible though.

The best part about this victory is that I got to rub it in my dad's face for once :)

    I agree.
Last time in HOU, Lin scored 38pts and Tony Parker had triple-Doubles.
In this game, they tried to play better D on each other.

In the first half, Parker had 5pts and Lin took 1 shot only.

I thought they could have played Lin + Beverley in the 1st half. There was no reason to sit Lin for a straight 9 minutes between the 1st and 2nd quarters. He was playing decent defense against Parker up to that point. If the reason to sit him was because Beverley was shooting well, then they should have given Harden a rest (especially when his shooting was off), and played Lin + Beverley… which is what they finally did at the beginning of the 4th quarter which worked fine. In fact, in that stretch it looked like it finally gave Lin a chance to try to get going, by letting him run those high picks and take a few shots in his preferred method which is though movement and with the ball in his hands rather than spot up, but by then it was too little too late.

Houston got a big win by an amazing shot by Harden. The win was what was important in the end.

And it'll be 0 against OKC and the Clippers, is all Im saying.

No one actually thinks the Rockets will knock any of those contenders in the first round, I just think the Spurs will spank them the least :p

Lin would do well to learn from young Tony Parker. He was an erratic shooter early in his career, but worked hard to develop a deadly mid range game to go with his ability to drive and finish.

Lin didn't get the same picks and screens he got that game, but to be fair he shot like doo-doo this game so he wasn't going to put up a lot of points tonight regardless.

He needs to work on becoming a consistent starting point guard before he looks to emulate a HOF point guard...
