Going to be an ugly game to watch regardless of whether the Rockets win or lose. No love about our guys will come from Charles or Kenny's mouth at all even if we blow the Spurs out by 20+ by the end of the game. They'll give the Spurs an excuse for it and won't credit the Rockets a single bit. I expect more unresearched commentary from the TNT announcers who will no doubt mistaken Jim Jackson rebounding a ball for Mo Taylor and vice versa. I expect to hear the same repeated "Yao needs to get a mean streak and be aggressive" repetitive record from them in addition to making the usual comments about Francis and him not being a true PG. I expect Charles and Kenny to ride Tim Duncan's jock all night regardless of whether we hold him to under 10 points and under 10 boards. After the Grizzlies commentary (didn't particuarly care one way or another about the Kerr comment about Yao, just bad sportscasting all together. They wouldn't shut up about the Knicks who still suck even now with Marbury. )

Here's a repeat of what I predict will be what the pregame and halftime show will be more often then not be about.

    1) All-Star self promotion since TNT is hosting it with <insert Yao or Steve do not deserve to be starters or all-star players> comments here from Charles and Kenny.

    2) Kenny making atleast one comment about North Carolina and how when he played he averaged 18 ppg one season with the Kings, despite being a nobody who followed Hakeem's trail towards two rings.

    3) Charles making atleast 5, count em 5 "GIN- OOOOOOOO-BLIIIIII!!!!!!!" remarks if Manu scores an acrobatic bucket.

    4) Repeat the same tired trade rumors about the Blazers dealing Sheed.

    5) Repeat the same sour milk drama going on in Laker land, and try to create crama even if none is there.

    6) Make two How Dean "HYEAAAAAAH" sound bytes while trying to crack a joke.

    7) Make atleast one comparison about how the Spurs play defense whereas the Kings and Mavs do not.

    8) And lastly if any commentary is truly going to be made about our guys, it'll be about Francis and JVG's issues which has been blown completely out of proportion on this board and by the media.

Anything I may of left out? :D

Oh yeah I sincerely hope Doug Collins is offering commentary about this game because he's the only guy who actually knows what he's talking about for them. The Dick Stockton, and John Thompson commentary is garbage. Czar's ok in a weasel sort of way, but his attitude and voice wears on me at about the 4th quarter. If Doug Collins offers his analysis you can throw all the trash I said about them aside from the Charles and Kenny pregame and halftime stuff out the window, because then it will be a well called game.

Stevie MUST continue with his current hot hand and put up some good numbers against the Spurs tonight. He also needs to look for his teamates and make the passes when needed. He must take high percentage shots tonight.

Yao MUST show up tonigh. Things appeared to be changing for the good when Yao had his strong couple of weeks performance. Now he has taken a few steps back. He must not be pushed around by Nesterovic.

The Rockets must not settle for multiple dribbles and crossovers where the ball only reaches one player. Also, I don't think they should just go to Yao on the post over and over. Defenses now know how to guard Yao down there. They must mix it up. Yao needs to hit his outside shots.

Last time we played the Spurs the Rockets set a new record in the franchises record. Although it was not a good record to make, they set a new record for the lowest 2 game point total. Which I believe was around 140.

Tim Duncan will get his numbers regardless tonight. Even if he has a poor shooting night he will still have the good numbers at the end of the game. The Rockets must shut down the role players. Keep Parker, Nesterovic, Gino, and Turky in check.

The Rockes and Spurs are arguably the best two defenses in the league. The Rockets are #1 in opponent field goal percentage holding opponents to .394, the Spurs are #2 in the league at .401 . The Rockets are #2 in points allowed at 84.2, and the Spurs are #1 at 83.7 .

So this game is most likely to be a low scoring mainly defensive game. IT may get ugly, hopefully it won't (for the Rockets). It would be great to see our offense to suddenly "click" again.

Here's to a win tonight. I am being optimistic. The Rocket's will make it a night to celebrate if we can finally get that #4 in our winning streaks this season. The Spurs are on a 4 game winning streak, the Rockets have won 3 in a row. Let's hope they maintain some intensity for a minimum of 3 quarters. Let's go Rockets!

SA's in the middle of a long road swing. Houston's the closest to home they'll be. Defense vs. defense.

    Rockets 84
    Spurs 81

I understand Uprising, but it is difficult for ROX to win this game. I really hope the Today would have been another Chinese New Year so that YAO could show up.

As I noticed, YAO really likes to be aggressive after he set his 37 PTs career record. Unfortunately, he did not even if he strongly expressed his desires.

I would forget this game and expect next game against Lakers.

The Rockets will lose an ugly, ugly game. Parker will make Steve miserable for the whole night, we'll lose the battle of the board, and then the game.

But, the Rockets will come back to beat the Lakers Wednesday.:D

Mark Jackson hits a three at the buzzer to give the Rockets an 81-80 victory in double overtime.

Seriously, I think we will lose 83-77. We'll play a tight game for 3 3/4 Q's, then fall apart down the stretch. We just cannot seem to get past the Spurs.

Even if the TNT crew is idiotic, you gotta admit it's good for some laughs. That footage they aired last week of Ernie and Craig dunking was comedy gold.

Rockets will not be a good team without SF and YM both playing good, you can beat bulls and bucks , but you will never beat a good team like spurs or lakers( even lakers are in water now). If SF and YM both score 20+ tonight , roxs will win , otherwise they have to swallow another ugly loss. SO:

    Rox: 88
Spurs 82 if SF and YM both score 20+ or so

    Else

    Rox 76

    spurs 84
