ClutchFans Game Thread: Spurs @ Rockets 12/19/2022

To me this was literally the worst game, losing by 20+ at home while being up at the half. Completely embarrassing and shitty to watch.

And to echo some of our Turkish friends, how the **** does Alp get so few minutes in a game where pretty much only he showed up? If we’re going to lose anyway, then feed him til the brakes fall off.

Also KPJ going for the “frustration dunk” when he had a wide open Green in front of him is the epitome of why he shouldn’t be our lead guard of the future. Try to help our best perimeter scorer get out of his funk a little bit, man. It’s these little things that he still doesn’t get, and I have no clue why we’re continuing to try to fit a square peg into a round hole.

This game was so exhausting, I swear

 

Said a million and one times, cannot run the Teen Wolf system without having Teen Wolf. I hated that style of play but Harden could go 3/16 and still have 35 points. They can't hit threes and no one bothers to defend the three or in front of the guards. EG has checked out.

Tyty is a pest staying in front of his guy so one change I'd be opened minded to:

KPJ (He can still get his all of his numbers and it's not like EG has been focused on either end)

The only thing worse than Silas coaching is Rockets media. How on earth they digged that much biased, lower level people there?

 

We need a good shooting coach.
I haven’t heard Lucas is good at teaching how to shoot.

You tell your players not to shoot the three because they suck.
You tell them to take it inside.
If they don't listen, you bench their asses.

This KPJ as a pg experiment needed to scrapped beginning of this yr after seeing that he was in way over his head leading the offense, Silas cant hold anyone accountable & is only there to cheerlead during the game & mope after game. Jalen & now Jabari are picking up bad tendencies by having no facilitator, the entire team cant hit a shot to save their lives... & Silas caps it off by spitballing random ass rotations & playing NIX & EG big mins smh. This team NEEDS top down change ASAP

Last thing I’ll say in the game thread is this: I hope our guys practice practice practice and get their shooting right.

when the Rockets are even shooting average from 3, they win games because they outrebound and out paint-point the opponents damn near every time, and are actually quite proficient at the line.

defense is another story, but fix that godawful shooting first. I don’t ask for much, just that. Please Santa (or whoever is the shooting coach over there)

make 2-3 more 3pt shots and don’t brick 11 FTs and this game looks completely different.

Ugly loss, but whatever. not a game we wanted to win in the grand scheme of things. Important for our tanking divisional rival to beat us. More Wemby bps.

 

anyone still on the it ain’t silas’ fault team needs to either show us the proof you’ve been saying stone is in charge or rotation and tells Silas to lose or rewatch the games from this year on mute. No one with any kind of basketball mind can think this is a well coached team
