So when is respectful time to offer critical analysis?

After 10 games, after 1 season, 2 seasons, 4 seasons?

MDA did not get ANY grace period.

    Neither did McHale or JBB.

After 2 games and 1 quarter of defensive confusion and inconsistency using hybrid system, this solution makes just too much sense.

    Simplify:

Cousins line up > play drop coverage/2-3 zone

Small ball line up > play switch everything

its the moves at margins that matter and make the difference....little detail here, a small improvement there and well be there... its nice to see Silas getting to work

Remember how pj tucker's midrange floater won us the game 7 in the playoffs last year?

    Behind enemy lines:
    --------------------------------------------------

    "Wall looks good" :)

"I really like that Houston player - Tate" :D

"Was just about to say that Clemens kid looks good, then he tears his Achilles..." :(

"Yep, definitely looks like an Achilles...no contact, just a plant and pop. Sucks for that guy" :(

"Did he Pop his Achilles? I think that happens to only one player every year man that sucks for that kid if he tore it." :(

"You can tell after that happened the Rockets lost all will to finish out this meaningless game. Hate to see those injuries. They’re not like ACLs where healing has gotten faster and guys generally come back fine. Achilles are huge question marks." :(

"Caboclo looks like an accident of nature. Weird proportions" o_O

"Man I hated Jeff Hornacek in the 90s" :p

If Maclemore can make it at an above a 50 % clip than its useful. Otherwise, it's not. So far the offense here isnt stupendous from what Im seeing.

Right, these guys can take these shots when they can. But I dont think these should be a large part of our offense. I would say, lets see how it fares in the playoffs ......But I dont know if Harden is gonna be here long enough for that to matter.

I completely agree with you that the moves at the margins matter.

But I just do not want Silas wasting time reinventing the wheel and this why I had hoped that Silas would retain either Gunning or Brase.

There is rhyme and reason for why the Rockets 5 Out System was so successful.

Why the Switch Everything defense was so successful.

Add the tweaks of course, but do not waste time reinventing the wheel.

    For example TURNOVERS.

Rockets had 15 TOV vs. SPURS last night.

The fault is not the system, it's the personnel.

5 Out requires ball handlers/passers at every position.

This was reason why MDA kept poor ball handlers stationary to keep turnovers down.

Remember the Morey/MDA's analytics keys to victory:

    *Win TO battle
    *Win FT% battle
    *Win 3P% battle

Trying to make players more skilled is best saved for after the season. Honing skills is homework for players in offseason. Silas needs to put players in positions to maximize their current skillsets.

Not every player is great at Show and Go. Or Pick and Pop. Or Stop and Pop. OR CATCH & SHOOT.

Time for the Spurs to cement their 12th seed.

It is perplexing how smitten that tester gal was with this goofball.

I believe this is Cousins only play and not something Wood will be doing.
