amen and tari's health are huge for this team to get more wins than last year. if both are hurt at the same time, say goodbye to 2nd unit production and defense.
It seems to me like Jalen is being used as the secondary ball-handler/play-initiator whenever he's in, whether it's with Amen or with FVV. I don't think Cam is ready for that role because he's mostly a straight line guy, his passing vision is probably one of the most limited on the team, and he's even more shoot-first than Jalen is. Cam is legitimately one of my favorite guys on the team, but even I have to say that he's not shown us what he's capable of this season. Some of it is rotational stuff, but he needs to make better decisions on the court as well.
When was the last time we had a boring win? I kept waiting for that late game collapse but it never came this time.
This is kinda unhinged right? When was the last time Cam attacked a set POA defense as the primary ball handler? Cam attacks close outs and catches and shoots. If Cam ran 10 pnr primary ball handling possessions per game like Green he'd average around 7 turnovers per game. He simply is not capable of maintaining a live dribble when multiple defenders in tight half court spaces are reaching for some cookies which constantly happens as the primary pnr ball handler. He stops his handle immediately when that happens. You simply can't give a player who does that Green's role which is to attack set POA defenses off the dribble.
Don't tell me I posted multiple times about it. Some people on this forum are just committed to bashing Udoka no matter what. I think the problem is Fred, Jabari, Dillon shooting sub 33% from three. We paid Fred 40 million to shoot 28%
Tari & Amen seem like our most impactful players. The games with them and without them were night and day for us.
I said we should judge him like we judge Jalen. Therefore he would be given the starting spot before he has earned it and learn on the job like Jalen. Jalen is not that far from Cam to be honest.
Unless Cam changes, which he is young enough he may, at this point he is instant offense when you need to get a bucket, classic old school 6th man back in the day. Hard for him to get minu wemby asked Silver cause he like to pick on us and silver like pops is scared to tell him anything. Glad he and silvers conspiracy is backfiring courtesy of the Turkish dream
They really do all the dirty work and hold it down on D. I get so hard when Amen is making them middies and Tari his turnaround fadeaways
I hate how we didn't keep this under a 100! And McVeigh not finishing that lob, though everyone seems to fumble on our alley-oops this year, WTF dude.... For the rest, nothing to complain about. This was a complete team game and yeah our offense still sucks, but our defense is just beautiful. Amen will be a All-Time defense soon and Tari hitting that turnaround on a consistent basis makes him so much more of a threat.
You have to be kidding. Jalen is miles ahead on defense, dribbling, and facilitating. There is more to basketball than watching the guy with the ball try to dunk. Yeah, it’s fun to see a strong and athletic person barrel to the basket and try to throw it down, but it’s not the most sophisticated way to assess a players value.
We are of differing opinions now, but I do remember you being super excited about Jalen and us excitedly talking about his potential a few years back. I know you’ve soured on him since then but hopefully Jalen can prove the 2021 version of you right! I think Jalen is definitely far more advanced of a player than Cam is as of now, but the comparison was always weird to me because they occupy different roles and are called upon to do different things to begin with
