Good point although a win is a win, whether it's ugly or pretty. Mind you we weren't playing out best like you have pointed out.

i only caught couple of minutes of the beginning game then i had to leave for a jetblure redeye shift from west coast to east coast. it was a boring flight and I tried to catch some highlights of rox-spurs game from the sports center. i saw ginobilli dunked on yaoming for more than 20 times during the trip and heard the espn guy exciting comments. they must be having a festival of celebrate somebody dunk on yao today. expect to see it over and over again for couple of weeks.

one of the question from yao's interview from nba.com's my amazing journey:

When did you realize you had serious game?
YM: It is hard to say. I think I never really am a great player right now. I am a player still looking to get better.

this guy is so humble. whats not to love with yao ming? he's a class act.

True. i think we would be 5 and 0 if yao took more shots against dallas. I'm glad they gave him the ball in crunch time. Perhaps coach A noticed and made the change.

We won the game with t-mac only having 12 points, theres no wqy in hell we could have done that last year. So we know we are a much better team, and if yall think about it we would have beat the mavs too if it wasn't for a few TO's at the end of the game.

I'm tired of watching Rafer build an apartment complex shooting all of those bricks. Give Steve a shot at least. I know he's hungry right now, having sat on the bench gathering splinters.

I didn't get to see the game, but looking at the box score Hayes and Scola totaled 28 minutes, meaning we didn't have a "traditional" power forward for a good chunk of the game. (Aside from the Mutombo and Yao frontcourt experiment(!), I'm assuming a good chunk of Battier's 40 minutes came at the PF spot.)

But despite the lack of size up front, they somehow manage to outrebound the Spurs 55 to 28? With McGrady getting 9 and Bonzi going for 15? Very interesting.

I think this was a good game decision and matchup by the coaching staff after the "experimental failure vs dallas".

If you compare the two games, you will noticed that DA change his matchup and players.

However, I still thing we were a bit lucky, as SA played like dallas playing GS in the playoffs.

why I said that? well, spurs changed their lineup in order to match with us. instead of us matching to them. they placed Duncan on Yao and left the 4 open, so we stick in Battier at the 4 and that changed our backcourt, as we got more cutters and playmakers out there.

if spurs stick with duncan at the 4, then we would left a lot more problem with duncan and him dishing out to open man. don't expect spurs to have duncan matchup withyao again.

it was a great game and win for us

There is no way we would have won this game with JVG coaching. We won because of 25 offensive boards. With JVG, as soon as the shot goes up, 4 of our players are headed back on defense. Furthermore, we'd have no Bonzi who was a key difference maker.

True. Apart from about five bad minutes in Dallas, we'd be 5-0.

Well that's how Dallas beat SA a few years back. Dallas like us last night was able to force SA to match up with us instead of us matching up with them.

They have no match up for bonzi when he's in there with t-mac. bowen is on t-mac which means they had to guard bonzi with either ginobili, barry, or finley. I think they even had Elson guard Bonzi but he was too quick.

I'm a new member and cannot make a new thread so i'm posting here.. maybe someone will make this a new thread.

What do y'all think about YAO AND MUTOMBO being in at the same time? I've felt we need to do this for 5-7 minutes a game for a few years now. When they were in, we dominated the boards (not like we didn't the whole game) and make parker/duncan very uneffective.

Do you think Adelman will keep doing this or was it just because scola was in foul trouble?

    Thoughts?

    HaHa,

I thought that they were talking about using Francis instead of Rafer who sucked so much last night.

Not when the opponents have good perimeter shooters.

The spurs killer is back. lets hope he get to show more of his game with other teams. If we could get this performance from bonzi yesterday, we would have be 5-0.
