Outscored 34-9 ...at the end of the game.....could DEVESTATE the team's confidence....

    That is just insane......34-9..........

Too many jump shots.....3-12 on 3pters......settling for jumpers....

    Dang.

He is no worse of a defensive player that Padgett is yet he got some playing time tinight. Novak shot lights out during the preseason and deserves a shot to play

Exactly! JVG should at least give Vspan a few minutes at the point. Even just 2-5 per game to see how well he matches up on defense. if he cant handle it, take him out, but at least give him a shot when we are up by a lot or when the starters just arn't getting it done

I miss Chuck, his offensive rebounds and defense. without him, this is a different team.

What's horrifying is the glaring difference in shooting. This is totally scary. I don't know when the Rockets will turn their aweful shooting on.

My only beef tonight was Padgett in for the entire collapse. I wathced him closely, he was the long AU guy trying to play an NBA game.

Blow away an 16 pts game is nothing. Suns have done that many more times, spurs even blew away 10pts against us in less than 1 minute left. So this is nothing. If this loss serves a lesson for our young season. It's worth it.

i've noticed that too, with my friends. there is no respect for his game because he doesn't play like shaq.

Yao is STILL the best NBA player who primarily plays center. Duncan can play center, but most of the time he's at the PF position. It's arbitrary semantics in some ways, but there are size/speed differences between players at the two positions.

And one head-to-head game proves NOTHING. Not only is it an idiotically small sample size, but Yao's performance so far this season (as well as all of last season) has been significantly better than Duncan's.

Duncan has had the better career so far. Yao has recently been better.

One thing when the Spurs are rolling like that going to the hole will only get offensive fouls. Mostly because the refs wont call a foul against the spurs during that sort of thing.

On the other hand, it could calm down a team that could have possibly been too happy about themselves. When things were going too well, Spur came to teach Rockets a lesson, in a hard way.

And this game proved that another center is better??

    Who, pray tell? Shaq? Oberto?

Yao had a subpar game, but its not like any other center is in his league right now (statistically speaking, anyway)

Rafer and Head are not responsible for a 28 point second half... poor defense can hurt you, but terrible shooting will kill you.

    Exactumundo!

Although, in past, Head has been clutch at times.

Rafer, for a starting PG, is simply terrible when it comes to pressure cooker.

I agree with you there. At the very least, VSPAN should be our energy guy who comes in to play a little defense and give this team a little life down that mid 3rd to 4th quarter stretch. At this point, give him about 10 minutes, and see what he does. Let him play a little D.

losing a 19 point lead at home will either devestate a teams confidence or make them angry and focused for the next few games.

i'm interested to see how they respond to this against the bulls and pistons.

No...not on offense, but Rafer and Luther allow other teams guards to penetrate at will and either pass out for an open 3pter or make the layup.

    Our perimeter defense was terrible.

The Spurs competed in the 2nd half, the Rockets wilted.

A one legged sura plays better then alston and head put together. also i dont care if he hit one three, when he sees yao or tracy are having an major scoring lull, he must take it upon himself to be creative. his supposed intangibles will only get you so far. rudy>battier

Agreed on 1, Yao does need to improve a lot on how to get himself in position to grab rebounds on both ends of the floor.

Not sure about 2 and 3, especially how does high-fiving your teammate take a great deal of your energy? LOL

JVG sucks; he should call time out and change tactic when Spur surges. I wish we will have a new coach who is smart enough to not stick on one thing all over again.

Just a pay back of 35 seconds. This is it. Talking about lucky shots. Can anything be luckier than that?

Don't be too depressed, we were just outplayed by the greatest team of this league. This is a good game anyways, as well a very timely game to helped us figure out who we really were. And move on as realistic.
