Give me a break! how are you gonna criticize somebody for giving one of his teammates a high five? To me that is something that separates him from so many other of the great players in the NBA is that he has a sense of unselfishness and likes to congratulate his teammates on stuff that they do well. I never knew that made him not a superstar.

Actually when they made the run and tied it up at 75, Battier hit the 3pter that gave us our last lead.

He played well, but I am serious when I say it is all our perimeter defense...Luther and Rafer are not just bad defenders, they are TERRIBLE.....

Whenever other teams start penetrating our leads vanish, that is our achilles heal...our PGs...

And when both of them are on the floor at once.....ugly is not just a 4 letter word.

im not very upset the rockets lost because they are still off to good start but tomorrow this loss will give nba "analyst" yet another reason to bash the rockets  even though this year the rox are looking betther than they have in a long long time.

im sticking to my user name rox0607champs :D
the seasons very young keep our heads up and the good guys will prevail

This team better learn from this game...

I have to give the Spurs some credit tho, they played great the second half...

We need to improve on many more things before we can consider ourselves good... Spurs is still better than us, but we need to try and top them before the season ends.

We lost a bunch of games last season, 7 in a row, 10 in a row, but none of them made me so sick. So, you know what, don't have too much hopes make us feel better.

Obviously this is a tough loss. The whole team let up during the third quarter when the game looked like it was in our bag. But Van Gundy was really the chief culprit for not taking a timely timeout early in their run and giving a chance for the players to calm down a little and play within the system. He probably should have made some personnel change as well, getting some fresh legs and energy players on the court to hussle a little more. This is not the first time that he simply let his players hang and dry on the court during a bad stretch. What is that all about? A test of character?

Yao had an off night. But I think he probably has earned more than enough to have an off night. Tmac was on fire in the first half when he drove relentlessly to the hole. The second half he wasn't driving as much. Give the Spurs credit for their defense. But I still think a lot of the bad showing in the second half was due to Rockets' panic and not playing the typical Rockets basketball. This, again, was mainly the fault of Van Gundy because he allowed the panic to grow to such a degree that it was simply unrecoverable.

Outside of his putting in Padgett in the 3rd, I'm OK with JVG on this one because there's nothing more he could have done. This game was lost because of that old Rockets bugaboo: No can shoot. When the Spurs clamped down, the Rockets couldn't steal a basket. Look, it's not a real secret on how to beat the Rockets: Just attack Yao when he has the ball and dare the other Rockets players to beat you. Chances are, they won't. Battier is not a dangerous scorer. Neither is Alston nor Head nor Snyder nor Hayes nor Padgett nor anyone else on the bench and it was the Spurs' bench that turned the tide while the Rockets' bench went poof! To that list you can now add McGrady who scored 4 points in the 2nd half and simply disappeared when SA was making their run. He's a jumpshooter now and a streaky one at that. No matter how much they try to spin this as a slump, Tmac does not look right out there and that means trouble for this team. Big trouble.

Any coach is responsible for a 30:4 collapse!
JVG does not know offense. That is OK. What about defense?
    What had he done?

Yao is still the best center in the NBA, no matter what you racist YOHs think.

well said. this is the 8th game of the year. we are only about 1/10 through the season. we still have 3 more games against them and hopefully we will have hayes AND bonzi for those games.

on top of that. they could win all 4 games against us during the regular season, but the playoffs is a different story all together.

beat the bulls and pistons and call is an awesome week.

Unreasonable rotation made our players should face to a low tide at the end of the 3rd quarter or early 4st quarter 5 men in all. And experienced teams like Spurs could catch that weakness and give you death warrant.

The problem is: Our role players can only score when we have a huge lead. Head, Alston, etc, can score **** when we are trailing. They are mentally weak!

I'm not surprised by the defeat but am disappointed the Rockets got outscored 21 to 9 in the final quarter.

I don't know what happened if the starters played most of the previous 3 quarters or what but I believe we could've matched them in that 4th quarter and maybe of snatched it.

But look at the first 3 quarters, we held our own against them, just something happened in the 4th and we lost.

IM not sure they are racist, but I have noticed alot of my black friends dont like Yao. But I think it is because they dislike his style of play.

With that said, again, I dont think it is a race issue.
