We get a lead and we lose it when the other team puts in a penetrating PG or they start attacking the rim.

Our perimeter shooting has improved but our perimeter defense is as bad as ever.

Luther and Alston SUCK at defense...

The spurs seemed to have our # guys!

Yao didn't bring it tonight, however we still have a better chance with pounding the ball inside to Yao. I'd rather take my chances with Yao handling the ball and dictates the plays then have us continually jacking up and missing shots from the perimeter.

Gundy blew it with game management. We were up by quite a bit and when the Spurs made that push, he should have called several time outs to slow them down. Rafer and Head were responsible for crucial turnovers.

Man, I'm still not sold on our point guards, everytime our guards are under duress they fold like cheap suits.

All I know is that the second JHo was put in, that's when the 16pt lead started going away.

He can't be that bad???? Can he???

Uh uh uh ... No. Novak is the worst defensive player on the team. The way our starting 5 was getting chewed up, do you honestly believe someone like Novak could have turned things around?

WoW! You need to calm your ass down buddy.
I know everyone's excited by Yao's dominance in the last few games and thinks Yao can already be mentioned in the same breath as Shaq, Dream, and TD. But the transformation to elite big man doesn't happen overnight. Yao's not there yet and still needs more time.

What worried me was the manner in which we lost. we collapsed and noone showed anyleadership to steady the ship. battier is not all he is crackedup to be.

This game is good for shutting up those "best center" nonsense.
    Yup, I love this game.

Our starters were too tired to contitue their best performance.

Did you notice that Rafer got almost zero rest tonight? He shut down Parker at 1st half but he can't do that in 48 mins. Our collapse began from his position at the end of the 3rd quarter.

I didn't see the game, but from the box score it does seem like our rotation of 8 players has been running out of gas down the stretch during the last few games - not a good sign this early in the year.

If you look at our scores, we've jumped out to many early leads, only residing to "scraping by" with the victory in the end. I think this has to do with, in part, our 8 core players getting tired, thus missing shots and lacking hustle.

I just don't see the point of having those extra 3 or 4 players on the roster if they're not gonna play. Hell, I could sit the bench in a Rockets uniform for a year. I'd only charge them a dollar a game.

But like I said, I haven't seen tons of games this year (bust schedule...I think I've seen two games, and part of another), so I could be completely wrong here.

Stop the blame game guys, we just got outclassed tonight by a purely better team, plain and simple.

Take it like a man, learn from it, accept it, and move on...we will be better for it in the long run, trust me...

what's all this talk about novak being able to help tonight?

the spurs don't give up open shots. he can't do anything but shoot. at least padgett was rebounding very well and shot a nice % from 3.

It is NOT nonsense. that Crybaby shaq was shown up BIG time. Yao is the #1 center in this league.

He had an off night, that last year would have been considered great. wasnt it 20 and 7 with like 3 steals, and a couple blocks?

So, we get a big lead... and you guys say we should counter their scrubs (who come into the game after we manhandle their starters), and put in our scrubs?!??!

All these patterns tell me is that this team has a HORRIBLE habit of easing up once they perceive that the other team is giving up (once their bench players come in). Its human nature... every team in the NBA (or all sports) tends to do this... but its up to the players to man up and break out of these patterns.

How bout not waiting forever to take a freaking timeout when the Spurs are scoring at will and the wheels are falling off?

How bout do what real coaches are supposed to do and MAKE ADJUSTMENTS?

How bout drawing up a couple of good offensive plays to get us some good looks coming out of timeouts? (Oh yea, I forgot, JVG won't do this. Defense is all that matters to him.)

Popovich punked JVG tonight. Pure and simple.
