That's the 3rd time we wasted at least 16 points lead!!!

That's the 3rd time we wasted at least 16 points lead!!!

Unless Coach JVG learned how to distribute the playtime of our starters and how to use the strenth of our bench depth, ROX would lose another game like tonight and like those games against MIL or NY.

That's the 3rd time!!! Mark it!! An idiot coach could waste 20-points-like lead in 3 of the 5 games. Does any other teams do things like that?

One of the turning points was Juwan missed a layup after he made a good move to the basket and we immediately gave up a layup on the other end. What would have been a 19 point lead was cut to 15.

Yeah, dissapointing loss. After a 15 point lead, Beno Udrih hits 2 3's and a layup, Horry hits a three. And the game was decided by then, sigh. Too bad T-Mac didn't show up in thr second half...Yao missing 6 consecutive shots....and I thought we had TD and Parker bottled up for the night

    Bonzi Wells, where art thou?

I am really pissed off right now. Other than the first half, Tracy's plays really pissed me off! ATTACK THE BASKET!!!!!!!! DON'T SETTLE FOR A JUMPER!!!!!!!! Then Luther Head who has been doing o.k. in previous games is mostly responsible for that huge 19 point collapse.

We should have easily won this game, but T-MAC's poor decisions and I think, JVG's coaching. Why didn't we keep posting up Shane? He was doing so well with it, and he was being guarded by noone.

a bunch of cry babies... it's one freaking game; i know it's a tough loss to take, but get a grip; it's the spurs and they got lucky tonight cuz JVG made a bad decision not calling TO when they started their run in 3rd quarter; and don't give me crap about yao lost the game tonight; NO ONE showed up late, including TMac... besides not even MJ have great night every night; i donno since when 20 pts 7 something rebs, blocks, steals is terrible; the fact he shot bad late in the game is cause no one else was doing ****... pretty much the result of the bad team game, not individual game... all those shots he missed he was in the middle a bunch of spurs... and early in the game, everyone was making shots, it's about time for everyone to miss shots... i say, this game probably teaches rox more than anything... now they know they aint on top, gotta learn before you get there...

Do you think Pop would have done what JVG did, or do you think he might have helped his team by going to his bench, or putting in players that would hustle?

They played their bench more than ours....do you think Novak might have helped when we couldn't score?

JVG did NOT help and he was part of the collapse....he should have been breathing FIRE on the sidelines....

The Rockets have historically been able to play with the Spurs for 3 quarters before giving in. At least that's the way it's been over the last 6-7 years. The one game they were able to buck the trend was 2 seasons ago. And it's not the McMiracle one. It's the 2nd home game against San Antonio that year. They had a decisive 4th quarter where they closed them out.

If there's good news to take away from this game, it's a) we didn't have Chuck Hayes, b) we didn't have Bonzi Wells who will be huge against the Spurs down the stretch, and c) Yao had arguably his worst game of the season.

If only 2 of those 3 things reverse themselves next time we play San Antonio, the Rockets will be fine. Let's face it, folks. This is the one team that we've had trouble playing with for years, even moreso than Dallas. Until we reach their level, we may be contenders, but not favorites.

We miss Hayes. The whole team was without energy and got outbounded by double digits.

    lost :(

Yao had a bad nite, not enough support from bench,
I don't think superstars on the Spur side had a wonderful night, but the team saw the chance when Alston is tired and played Udrih

ONLY PLAYING THE STARTING 5 is not a good idea, as 3Q and 4Q showed

and i hate Ginobili -- the guy is just so good at drawing fouls

Yao is tired. TMAC is OK. The main problem is coaching. JVG really needs to improve his weird style of calling timeout. He usually calls timeout during a scoring streak of Rockets and today no timeout at the end of 3rd quarter.

But Rockets played good 3 quarters (well, except the last 3 mins), which leaves :) hope.

    i am not panicked. :)
a lot of bright sides in the game.
it is just beginning of the season and we are still building the team.
it is really a good lesson for rockets.
Never underestimate any team even you are 19 points up.

Guys like that overreact over every setback. Yeah, Yao sucked tonight. The team completely collapsed in the second half. Losses like this are frustrating. But they're NOT the end of the world.

As crappy as Yao played tonight, he's now down to a mere 0.55 FG%. Seems pretty damn good to me. It's sooo easy to cry "inconsistency," or say "Yao choked up," or "Yao doesn't have the heart to play well in big games," but it's also stupid. EVERYONE has their off-nights. Things like this aren't out of the norm. No one plays at their average (or above it) every night - if they did then it wouldn't be their average.

The season is still young, and the Rockets have started off with a 62.5 winning %. Start worrying when more losses start piling on faster than wins.

    Eeeeeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuuuuw!

What's that smell coming from Houston?

The lesson here isn't hard, people. Shooting evens out. Our first-half shooting sucked in Miami, but we played hard D all game, and eventually our shooting heated up enough for the win.

This time, we rested on good shooting, and when we went cold, we had no D to keep us in the game.

Hard D all game, no matter what the score. Learn it. Live it.
