Novak and Padgett are lethal. If one goes down then we have the other to keep the offense going.

i'm a little worried about T-Mac, he hasn't really shown his 2004-05 form...he did not once take a player off the dribble, in the "eat my dust" kind of way...the man's lost a step, AT 26!! However, this team still looks good with a t-mac at 70%...can't wait for Bonzi to join the show.

Padgett looks good again. IMO he is a lock for the team.

Yeah, I think so too. Jacobson and Azubuike will be cut for sure. Then either Sura will be bought out or Bowen will be the final cut.

in the Spurs-Rockets pre-season game, I saw Snyder's block of Smith, Spanoulis' undergoal shot, and two consecutive three point goals of Steve Novak.

Although its a pre-season game, I see Tracy McGrady will have a lot of new faces helping him in the Rockets offense. And I haven't seen Bonzi Wells yet.

Steve Novak's nickname can be argued all-year, but as long as he's draining those perimeter shots, Jeff VanGundy should give him his minutes.

    Go Steve Novak!!! Go Rockets!!!

    wow

    this game was boooooooooring

yao looks rusty, I almost cried when TMac fell to the ground

Novak was not hitting the first 5 or 6

Spanoulis was fouled out in something like 12 minutes

    hahaha

Battier looked good, it was eh a boring game

Arg damn these spurs. Pop didn't want to play Duncan so we couldn't test out how Battier and Hayes would fair against him.

Nice game overall. Although it's against the Spurs' second team, it did show something. Yao was still shaking off dust, as he missed a lot of turnaround and hook shots that he usually should hit at a high percentage. He should be fine when the season starts though.

The offense seemed stagnant in the 1st quarter, almost exclusively go 1 on 1 with Yao or tracy, which didn't work out too well. The offensive flow got much better from 2nd quarter, with a lot of set plays. Maybe the strategy was to let Yao eat them inside as early as possible and force them throw a double team to Yao so that the rest of the team get more freedom.

This Novak kid is really something special, kinda off for most of the night but hit 2 back to back in the end. Maybe I'm too caught up in all the Nova hyping, but whenever he misses, I go like daym, how can he miss that. :D

I really love how shane battier sneaks in for all those offensive rebounds and easy 2s or camp in the deep corner waiting to fire up 3s. With the heavy attension Yao draws inside, he can do this every single night. He would probably have a career year this season.

Every preseason game pumped me up to a new level. Man this season is really going to be something great.

I like Battier's efficiency. 17 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, vs. only 1 foul and no turnovers. 7/13 FG. I know this is only preseason against scrubs but if he could average 12-15 pts and 6+ rebounds per game with his efficiency in the regular season that would make us a lot tougher to beat. I'm just hoping that Bonzi does'nt disappoint us now.

    My view of this game

Yao: He played a OK Game. I am not that thrilled about his number. Even 24 10 is a good number. hoever, i believe he can do much better considering the minutes he played. And he has to get his shooting back!

T-Mac: barely played in this game. hard to judge but healthy for sure :D

Battier: Man like JVG said if you have a problem with this guy then you have a problem! I believe Rybo will be cut because of him. He is soooo great. truly what we need in this team.

    Rafer: Still Rafer, nothing new.

Novak: I noticed this guy back in college. He is what he supposed to be. A great and nature shooter!

V-span: I just hope he can shoot some day. except that he is a great addition to our systerm.

How do we put Bonzi in to this team?

Yao was rusty but he still got 24/10 tonight. I guess he will at least average 36/15 when he is back to form eventually. Your post has driven my optimism of the season through the roof.

I thought i was the only one who noticed. But yeh im a big tmac fan, and i've noticed he is slower than he used to be. It doesnt seem like he can blow past his man like he used to when he was in ORL. He might say he's leaner, but i when i compare pictures of him now and pictures of him back in 04-05 and in ORL, he looks bigger/fatter. :/

I’m surprised more people haven’t spoken up about this, it seems like everyone has just accepted the fact that he’s not the guy in Orlando or even the t-mac of 04-05.

Also it doesn’t seem like he is adapting well to his situation…you would think he would try to play a different style of game, develop some post up moves or add something to his game to make it more efficient…great players adapt to losing their athletic abilities. All he seems to have done is shoot more from the perimeter. Just my observations.

i wouldn't judge tmac until the regular season starts. when we acquired him two years ago, he looked terrible in the preseason. people were worried about him, but he went on to have a great year.

Bill Worrell is completely distoring the "he lost 15 lbs" thing in all these games. He lost 15 lbs from where he was in the middle of the summer, not compared to last year. Right now, he's at his normal playing weight, which is bulkier compared to his days in Orlando.

Lebron James splitting the defenders and driving right at Yao, taking the 4th step to the basket~! YES! he did it! Lebron James gives the Cavaliers a 2 point lead with 0.1 seconds to go!
