Nah you bashed him on those games he took a few attempts and had a low FG% too. Show me where he had bad on FG% on low attempts and you didnt bash him.

So are you saying Reed had a good game? You think 25% 2/2/2 in 20 mins is good? Why didnt you mention him but mentioned Cam? Cam only took 3 shots.

Or maybe you just really wish I did so you don't sound like such an idiot right now?

He didn't have a good game, he didn't have a bad game. The game plan just didn't really include him tonight.

Cam, when on the court looked bad. It looked like he didn't want to be there. He didn't shoot well, but that's not the reason he looked bad.

For all the Reed bashing on this thread, I wonder if anyone noticed that Reed's defender/s never left him open. No matter what was going on in the offense, a defender was always on him. He did move to get free but there was always someone guarding him. Why is that? If he was that bad, why didn't they leave him alone? Maybe, Pop and the other previous coaches could shed some light on why opposing teams never left him alone?

Uhhh....because teams are supposed to at least try to guard all players on the opposing team.

Anyway I am done baiting all the Reedsters LMAO.

This was a great dress rehearsal. People keep saying Spurs are scrubs and while that is def true, I think its a testament to this team we already expect them to dunk on bad teams. If we compared to last preseason, the Rox didnt demolish the spurs even if Wemby wasnt playing I think they just had a small lead or something. These are my entire preseason thoughts:

Alperen Sengun: S. He is the team MVP imo. He is on track to be an Allstar and is our alpha. Personally I think he will be a franchise player when all is said and done. He is maxxed for sure. Its crazy how much his shooting improved in just 1 summer. Sengun now has no weakness he can score inside out and then pass out of double teams. Rox looking for a star well he IS the star. Best of all his character is excellent you don't have a dramaqueen or a softie or a megalomaniac or strip club addict.

JG: A+. He has shown a lot of improvement but his shot is still a bit inconsistent game to game. We will have to see more but he is a lot more focused and his great bball IQ and defensive effort is on full display every game. Right now I have him on the same tier as Spurs Dejounte Murray. Plays good defense, makes smart plays, shooting can be erratic at times. When his shot is on though he can be one of the best players in the league.

Amen: A. He is our future 2nd/3rd star. Could honestly be as good as Sengun when everything is said and done.

Jabari: B+. He is pretty steady. This both a good and bad thing, on one hand he is a great complement to whoever is on the floor but on the other he is projecting as an elite roleplayer. At the end of the day he is still a valuable archetype and is a winner. I actually think him and RS are very similar.

FVV and Brooks: B. Just solid vets. When you think of above average starter level players its these 2.

Adams: A. Starting caliber center coming off the bench to back up Sengun ain't fair. He has played great day 1 just inhaling rebounds, providing great drop coverage and creating so much space with his screens. He is our counter to OKC and Wolves big lineups.

Tari Eason: C+. Dude hasnt played in almost a year. He looked ok I guess.

Reed Sheppard: C+. He is adequate as a backup pg but the 3 pt shooting which was his calling card is surprisingly missing. Like I said he reminds me of Jabari who shot bad in his rookie year. Just like Jabari he should be good once he adapts to the NBA. I'm still holding on the Mark Price projection long term, the intangibles are there to ensure his success unlike.....

Cam Whitmore: D. Didnt fix his bad mentality, I think he is silently pouting against Udoka for not giving him mins. You know its serious when the black hole just takes 3 shots lol. Talent wise Whitmore is top 5 in his draft class, the risk is he doesnt accept Udoka's coaching and doesnt want to play the game the right way. We'll see.

Overall I think the Rockets have the 2nd best young core behind OKC. Winning at least 45 games and a playoff appearance should be an expectation for this season.

Team strengths are best depth in the league, transition defense and rebounding. Team's biggest weakness is still perimeter shooting. Should be a fun season ahead.

I actually see your point...but, here's the question...do you think this is anywhere near the RS that we will CONSISTENTLY see as the season goes on? More often than not ...I think these young guys who are barely a year out of high school (June '23), one year at KY, and look up at 20 years old playing against the best basketball on the planet take some time to get it going. Growing pains...call it what you will ...but, it happens time after time. It is a really RARE exception for a young, really good player to "get it" right away. There's a lot I don't know about RS...the one thing I do know though is that he can shoot the basketball...no doubt. He looks like that's not the case but he can absolutely can shoot it. You don't shoot 50% from 3 if you are unguarded. He'll come around.

I agree he will turn it around but just think if the Rox just starting the rebuild and Sheppard is our first pick and he shoots like this so far he would get murdered right?

I agree with you RS will be pretty good after some time. I was just pointing out the hype predraft was insane and posters here were underestimating our players saying RS will immediately get a starting spot.

20 year old Green under Silas wouldn't give a **** about defense one iota in a preseason game. Man what difference growing a tad bit older and a new coaching staff does to a dude. Seeing him move the way he did on defense in these meaningless games tells me he takes conditioning to be a two a way player seriously in his training and exhibition games.

I think this game sealed the rotation minutes, at least to begin the season.

    Starters

    [gap]

    Sheppard and Thompson

    [gap]

    Eason and Adams

    [gap]

    Whitmore (et al)

I do agree with you that the pressure was greater for the Sengun's,Jabari's etc.....and, it SHOWED at times...even looking at Sengun's first 2 years. LOT of doubt even there. Rockets were in a lot worse situation the previous couple of years. Things are a LOT different now....RS does not have to excel right away...especially if we have the real Jalen playing right now. There is wiggle room for RS to merge in more slowly as opposed to earlier young core. We have waay too many players and not near enough minutes to go around. We will probably see some very promising talent getting less minutes and moving on. A great situation to have IMO. I'm excited. Despite our different favorite players we can go 2 and at times maybe 3 rotations deep and still compete. Now that is exciting !

At the game tonight, they announced that the guy on the right had passed away. Not sure if his wife (far left - and a regular on the dance cam) was there or will be in the future.

Anybody worrying about Reed already is being waayyy too impatient. The kid is doing just fine this early. I feel comfortable with the ball in his hands and his shots will start falling. Once this team gels, watch out.

I mean they still play much better at home than on the Road.....we shall see how much they improved on the road.

You cannot go much worse on the road than last year.
