ClutchFans Game Thread: Spurs @ Rockets 10/14/2012 (PRESEASON)

I agree, HAD we beaten the Spurs the team would've started thinking they were too good and gotten cocky or something since they'd be 3-0 and even against OKC(although we know it wasn't against their 2 best defenders).
Asik realizes how far he is in with offense abilities against the master of interior Duncan.
Lin realizes Parker is probably the best true PG in his division and for many reasons why.
Parsons and the rest of the team realize how a titan defense, fluid ball movement, and deep penetration from top PGs breaks their defense, makes them slack, lose their confidence. The Spurs are probably even deeper than they are last year, I think they're going to do as well, if not better than their season last year so the Rockets will just need to play with enthusiasm even if they lose games this year.

duncan and parker are perennial all-stars and nba champions... lin has done nothing so we cant just think hes going to be much better than right now. this MIGHT be common occurrence and the real lin.

im just saying there is no reason to think hes going to be a lot better right now. duncan and parker are proven, so i will go out on a limb and say they will be much better during the regular season.

Too early to tell. It's only preseason, you know.

 

Not an excuse, but it's a young, inexperienced team, first time playing together this season (these few games) and in the NBA for some, against a seasoned, veteran team that mentors their young players very well and are coached by a HOF coach. I didn't expect any different outcome; would have loved it but not surprised.

I wouldn't expect a winning season this season, but with experience and a better high caliber vet to help mentor these players, there's reason to believe next season will be better. If not, I expect that McHale's days will be numbered.
