matching up well doesn't necessarily mean you execute well also....that is why teams who match up well with other teams still get beat all the time......and it's easy to have a defeatist attitude when you are in fact "defeated"
That's true. I also can't help but notice that the Rockets should be the team always creating the mismatches. Ideally... Yao- the most dominant offensive force inside in the league. Tmac- the most versatile scoring threat in the league. Aaron Brooks- if not the quickest/fastest player now, at least he will be in the future. Bonzi Wells- perfect blend of power and quickness, making him impossible to stop when he starts to attack the basket; also Spurs killer. Steve Francis- I don't think any other point guard in the league has his blend of quickness, strength, leaping ability, and ball-handling skills. And the other end of the court... Battier- a top 5 defensive player at the wing position. Hayes- a top 5 defensive player at the post position. Mutombo- one of the greatest shot blockers in NBA history. Scola- has tremendous hustle and an uncanny ability to get the loose ball. Of course though, this team has fallen short of their potential so far. We could/should be the most dangerous team in the league.
^^if the rules disallowed Yao from being doubled and trippled before he gets the ball...........Yao and the Rockets would OWN the universe. If TMAC would stay healthy and play team ball and not tmac ball, we would own the universe. I want to own the universe. Here is JVG gazing at the universe that he never got to own:
Proof that Rockets can win against the Spurs without T-Mac \/ http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/boxscore;_ylt=ApNLuvRB0bise25XH288dYWkvLYF?gid=2006122224
75% he'll play. That's a weird statement. Does 75% means he can play but it depends on other player's performance? or does it means he still not fully recovered?
I'll be there...haven't seen a win live since the portland game (the season opener) and I've been to 3 games since Let's go ROCKETS!!!
He said he felt better today than yesterday, and that they would see how he is tomorrow at shoot around. He felt better pushing off, cutting, etc. Still some pain, just not as bad, and "mentally" he was good today. Maybe he will play some minutes off the bench, and see how it goes.
Judging by this board most of the time, even if TMac hits the game-tying shot, and then hits the shot to take the Rox to the 2nd-5th OTs, and then hits the gamewinner with 0.8 sec left on the clock to win the game in the 6th OT, people will still find fault with him. So considering the above game scenario is unlikely to happen, and it is more likely that he will play like a guy who hasn't played in a month, I just can't wait to see what people will have to say....
This is confusing. I think TMac said he felt better today and would see how he does tomorrow and may come off from bench. I am interested in whether Francis has recovered from tendinitis or not and whether he is ready to get some PT.
I was gonna start a new thread....but we know what would happen... In the next couple games we're gonna start to see the Rockets we envisioned when Adleman came on board. We have too many weapons and now everyone knows what they're doing. Tmac's seen what the players can do without him. They can't win a championship without him but I believe he has to have gained confidence in them the past 10 games. The Rox are about to start their climb towards a 5th or 6th seed. Thats my prediction.
What will the TOFs say if the Rockets lose? I bet the main excuse will be "he just came back from an injury." Look, it doesn't matter, if you're cleared to play, you're cleared to play. Don't give me that injury excuses. If he's that injured, get off the court!
tough game, the key is offense in this game.. Spurs have a somewhat shooting slump in recent games....if we can bury them early with our offense, then we will have a great chance.
Being pessimistic: are we going to make to the playoffs? I do not think we can. Anybody else thinks we can? Please raise your hands
