Agreed. Rox match up well with Spurs despite Parker and Ginobili's slashing abilities. Rox need to pound the Spurs down low with Yao, except they need to get him touches without force-feeding him. Alston needs to keep on penetrating and make Parker play D. Bonzi needs cut and finish around the rim and thus putting pressure on Ginobili. Play Duncan with Yao by giving him room and keeping him out of the paint (Duncan is too good of a postup player for Chuck to guard successfully); if Duncan wants to shoot 15 foot bankshots all day, then let him.

Rox win. 97-90. Yao dominates. Mac comes back and takes it hard to the rack. Alston continues penetration. Bonzi continues his Spur-killing.

there's more to beating a championship team than matching up well....like execution, which this team still doesn't do consistently.....as far as the defeatist attitude goes, I'm just speaking the truth....yes you go out and play hard and try to win every game, but winning this game on Saturday doesn't really change the problems this team has..........

    newbie here!!!

the last two losses have been VERY disappointing. tmac coming back will HIDE some of the problems (esp. creativity, perimeter defense just to name a few) but he will not fix them all b/c u can't plug tmac in all 3 positions.

again, when tmac returns, our role players have continue to play well. as we observed in the last 2 4th quarters, whenever we hit a rough spot, we do not run the offense at all and revert back to JVG-style ball of dumping it into our superstars (that is not why i do not blame tmac at all for the early struggles b/c what do u expect him to do when our role players sucked and looked on tmac to bail them out?)

but i still believe. although we lost the last 2 games, our role players still played fairly well. it just proves u can't go without tmac for far too long. he'll be back and carry us through those droughts.

but like i said, tmac and yao will do their thing. but if the role players don't do their jobs, it's pointless.

see melo and iverson combining for almost 70 pts last night and STILL LOST???

You were probably one of those fans who predicted the Rox would blow out the 6ers

Well, it's a good night for the Rockets. The Rockets cant get their job done, so I was looking for some outside help tonight.

Thanks for Kareem Rush and Jesus Shuttlesworth, the Pacers and the Celtics beat the Warriors and the Blazers respectively. As a result, it's still 5 teams within 4 games for the last 3 playoff spots.

The Rockets must get its act straight. Just drink more red bull b4 they enter the game in Saturday.

A MUST win for the Rockets.

    Outcome - I dont know.

    Let's go Rockets!

what do you think matching up well does for your team? It allows you to minimize their strengths and maximize their weaknesses....ie execute defense which leads to offense.

Still a defeatist attitude that winning does not matter or change things imo.

If Tmac averages 8 asts per game for the rest of the season. (Most important)

If the refs let Yao play. (second most important)

If we start Scola and he doesn't pick up silly fouls.

    If Bonzi stop missing lay-ups.

Then there's still hope this year.

As for this game, I am hoping for a win but predicting a lose. :(

Our backcourt get exposed by Parker, but Yao and Scola score 50 points. Rockets win after 2 OT, 122-120 Rox win.

Emm...Ok, I am feeling really cold here

Who is staring at my back? :)

I am saying Goodbye to my gril on Friday. Is Spurs@Rockets match worse than that? :D Come on, I think we will win this. As some one predicted previously, I hope this is going to be a beginning of anohter winning streak.

Go Rockets, even though you are so fragile

Go Rockets, even though you lost to 76ers two times

Go Rockets, even though you fell in front of the second round of playoffs

Go Rockets, even though you are a baby who failed learning how to walk again and again

Go Rockets, even though you are just as *** as my girl is...

    Go, Go, Go...

    It's January, it's the Spurs.

Rockets will win, and hand San Antonio its second straight home loss (Cavs will beat SA tonight).

All that is left for the Spurs is to lose to a TRULY bad team after that - then they will play .800 ball the remainder of the regular season - and finally get that repeat in a 16-3 playoff run.

Congratulations on the win Saturday, though.

Never hurts to actually believe your team is going to win. No different than being negative and predicting a loss.

everyone is forgetting how much improvement we have shown recently...two fourth quarters dont diminish the improvement. we will kick spurs big butts again in dominating fashion and i think they are playing back to back

T-Mac goes for 30 and this will be the last we hear about the depth perception issue in TC. Rox wins big!

No, the Spurs are not playing B2B. The Spurs are playing tonite and Saturday.

The Spurs have been trying to integrate Ime Udoka and give Matt Bonner more minutes. Of course, the Spurs are also defrosting Big Shot Rob in his hibernation. Also, Brent Barry is hurting. So, it's kind of the Spurs are not as sharp as at the beginning of this season.

But the Spurs always have a strong record on their rodeo trip. They use to put things together in this trip and go on a strong run to finish their season in a high note. Manu Ginboli just gets his shooting touch back in last game. So, I dont expect anything easy. If the Rockets dont bring their A+ game, it will be hardly a win.

Adelman should not play starters the whole 3rd quarter! He ended up sitting them at the beginning of the 4th when the sixers went on their run. We need the starters, especially Chuck and Battier, for the 4th to sustain the lead. If T-Mac "Spurs Killer" comes back, then I see a big win.
