According to some of the posts here during the summer, wasn't Yao a beast during the recent Asian Basketball tournament? What happened to that other Yao?

Another game we should have won! Just like Denver game..we were winning for like the entire game until the end! We lost by 1 again!!! This really makes the little mistakes stand out. STeve missed 3 free throws. Sucks that he got hit by that dude..and his neck went OW..but still. I don't know how we lost!!! So disappointing.

Wow... tons of Yao bashing and not nearly as many for Stevie - not that this should be about who was worse...but damn who had all the turnovers late in the game? And yes, that last one was a horrid pass by Steve, Calvin even blamed it on him. Half of you Yao bashers are probably lazy couch potatoes who have never even played the game and think you know something because you watch them on TV. Sure, Yao has parts of the game he needs to work on, but he'll get there. If it were up to you all, you'd probably pull the trigger on Yao for Amare, or let's see...who else was available in the draft? Better yet, yeah let's traded him for Odom and two first rounders...maybe it could have been Bosh. Please, you take your team - I'll take my chances with Yao and some guys who play smart any day.

What I am worrying now is that If Yao can't establish his all-star level game consistantly by the end of this year, he will never get respects from the referees at all. This is a critical factor for any center to be dominant.

That's true. Even Shawn Bradley frustrated Yao in the Dallas game.

Yao doesn't deserve all star this year. It should be Shaq and Brad Miller.

Oh, there's the rookie sophomore game. So sad.

Blah, blah...whatever. I'm not really upset on Yao on the offensive end(even though i'm pretty upset) but i'm really pissed that he can't rebound worth a damn.

There are not many respectable centers nowadays to compare to. But i think some big guys did took their time to get respect. KG, Dirk, Ben Wallace, J. O'neal, B. Miller. It is not like by the end of their second year, they are either great of gone.

Brad Miller is listed as a PF.

None of the Rox players deserves to be on the all-star team this year. They suck collectively. I am still confident that JVG will turn this team around. Dare I even utter patience to this audience.

Yao needs to toughen up. Its embarassing to watch him play at times. He dosent secure the ball, when a play is called for half the time his teammates cant him the ball b/c he fails to get position. And from my observations at tonights game is that every other play the Rockets are shouting at the top of their lungs b/c Yao is out of place. Its a shame. Such a nice shot but thats about it as of today

Though he still had 15 pts so maybe Im being to hard on him :)

Patience is a tough word to swallow right now given the 4 years of patience waiting for this team to make the playoffs. But it's about all we can do since we're in no position to make any trades or see any signs of progress until the next game. Right now it's very tempting to become a Nuggets fan. They have 20 million dollars open in capspace to sign a big name player this offseason and there are some big name free agents that will be available in that time. They're already doing well as it is, have an abundant amount of capspace to bring in another star player, and are simply a team on the rise. It's sad to think that a team that's stunk for so long is a better managed team then the Rockets right now.

Yes it was all night long. He had rebounds pulled out of his hands in every single quarter and missed some others that went over his head. Of course all of Seatles offensive rebounds are not his fault but when he is in the game he needs to step up and do a better job of controlling the boards...hell he is 7'6". I don't think its to much to ask to get more than 6 damn rebounds!

BTW, he should have exhibited the same rebounding effort that you described every time he went up for the ball but he did not.

Why do you continue to ignore the fact that I blasted Francis harder than Yao? Stop trying to take issue with me on Francis when I pointed it out in my initial post that this team will never be a consistent winner as long as he is manning the point.

One last thing...this is not a Yao vs. Francis problem. They both sucked hard tonight and both are equally to blame for this loss. I have not given up on Yao Ming though. After 4+ years of Francis I have lost confidence in his ability to turn into a point guard.

By the way I'm not insinuating I'm a fairweather fan. I've suffered with this team before and I have no intention of stopping now. Every franchise goes on a run for a few years where they're simply not that good and are mediocre. It just so happens this is that time for the Rockets. It'll get better eventually.

ok so i was at the game tonight, doing my annual one rockets game. i was really really disappointed with the effort! they played the 3rd quarter and a lot of the game like they were up by about 30. sickening. we've got a real problem with yao. he cant get rebounds (how the heck did he get 20), and he cant score 20 points on guys like jeff foster and vitaly potapenko! what is the deal? im not sure we will be able to run our offense through him with any consistency. basically, i thought the rockets didnt really play like they wanted to win, which is really dumb. plus there were multiple times where one more pass would have made the posession a lot better. and......SF posting up? what was that about! bleh.....

    Wrong.

Brad Miller is listed as a center.

But I agree with your last statement. No Rockets player deserves an all star appearance and I for one will not vote for any this year./
