The 3 Main Reasons Why the Rockets Lost Tonight

    1. The Refs sucked. Were we watching a freekin NBA game or a damn wrestling match? Damn it call the damn foul when the defensive player is using both hands and driving Yao Ming out of the paint, maybe Yao should be a little tougher but it's still a foul so call it! Am I the only one that wishes Yao Ming would go Karl Malone on Potapinko?

    2. Yao Ming is a sissy rebounder. Get a damn rebound and secure it Yao! Your a freekin embarassament. Inch for Inch the worst rebounder in the NBA.

    3. Poor passing that led to countless turnovers. Steve is just plain horrible and this team will never be consistent as long as he is maning the point. And don't think I blame him totally for the last turnover, Yao could you at least leave you damn feet and try to get it?! I mean come on your 7'6" tall just jump a little damn it!

Did you notice one poession, Francis was so pissed at the previous call, or total frustraion of the night whatever, he hogged the ball all the way, the only thing he tried to do was to score, and he screwed up. Now, Iverson, starbury, Davis would've actually made that kind of shots. Francis is not good, not at all.

The way I see it is our two supposed leaders screwed the inbounds play because they were pressured to do what they're not good at doing. Francis can't pass, and Yao can't stand his ground. That play was a really bad sign because they are also supposed to be our 2 best players and they pretty much let the team down. If you can't count on your leaders and best players to do things right, you're pretty much screwed.

I'm a YOF. I don't like Yao's play today. If he had grabbed those rebounds, that would no such thing call "close game". That will be no "Steve dumbass passes" and "mobes stupid fouls".

If he wants to be a great player, he gotta do much better than that.

Ask JVG, I'm sure he'll give you a melon full.

Seriously, this team is a joke right now. No ONE player has been able to do squat for an extended amoumt of time this year at all.

I think it's time for the players to get their resolutions together because it is going to be a pretty damn busy new year for these guys, and they better get prepared for it in a hurry.

and why can't everybody understand that you have to get in good position to get the ball without causing a turnover. When you really look at it Yao's a lot like our guards when pressured with a double team, he turns it over. He can't deal with someone being physical with him because he lacks toughness, he has to be aggressive and pop someone with an elbow if needed because eveyone in the league knows, if you be physical with yap\o he will fold.

DD, 25/12 is a lot these days with all the "illegal" defense. That is about the number for KG this year, and KG gets my vote for VIP so far.

It takes time to get Yao stronger. Also, a side product of getting beefed up is clumsiness. Shaq is exceptional and don't expect Yao to be like that. Yao will still shoot the ball better than Shaq, but won't be as fast or powerful.

We all want Yao to be great, NOW, but it is not fair to blame him for current situation. I understand we used a #1 pick on him and we have the right to demand something. Don't forget we also used a #2 pick on SF and gave him a max contract and we used 3 first round picks to get EG. If we are going to demand something for our investment, we better not start from Yao. After all, he is doing relatively well.

Ever wonder what happened to Hans Klopek after he left the 'burbs? He died his hair black and started playing basketball:

    1. Yao = 90 inches = 9 rebounds per game = .1 rebounds per inch

    2. MoT = 81 inches = 5 rebounds per game = .06 rebounds per inch

There was another bad play when JVG yelled out, "no more fouls," since the Rockets would be in the penalty. A few seconds later, Cat commits a foul.

    Cannoner2002,

If you have read any of my posts you would know that I am utterly disgusted with the way Steve plays the point guard position.

And Yao is 23, very few centers get much better at 26 than at 23......You see some improvement, but I don't think Yao has it in him to be great.

Whomever compared him to Rik Smits is right on the money.

Both Yao & JVG touched this subject a few days ago,

Yao said that he always had stamina trouble after first 5 or 6 minutes, he felt fine if he got some rest after that 5/6 minutes. That's why he was always taken out after 6 minutes.

JVG said Yao had problem playing more than 5/6 minutes strentch, he didn't know if it's Yao's height & weight, or something else.

Anyway, you want to work Yao's stamina up to 35+ minutes level, but not at the cost of the team, that's very hard to manage.
