Is JVG ever going to be happy after a game? I bet you he have the same response even after say a 17 game win streak .. "ahh the defense was not good enough ... blah blah blah"

I am just happy we are playing so well even without Yao in the mix.

Go Rockets ... Tmac is the man when his mind is not playing tricks on him.

    This is for TIGERMISSION

Listen carefully to what JVG said about Tmac, He had a very good OFFENSIVE game.

A subtle shot at Tmac and a great way to convey your message to your superstar that his defense wasn't up to par

Actually, he was referring to his performance for the month. He's been very good offensively. But defensively, he can do more. I pretty much agree with that.

It's amazing how Tmac has improved his shot from the beginning of the season, when the season started, Tmac hardly hit his shot and now he's hitting it like a dream, a good sign for the Rockets.

Not without media, followed it on Yahoo. Rafer should not be getting as many shots as TMac. He has always handled the ball well and is a good distributer (nine assists). Too many shots from a low percentage shooter. Just basics.

I didn't say he was playing great defense, I thought I made that clear with the Pippen reference. I meant that he was doing OK in that department while playing unreal on the offensive end.

McGrady is one of those guys that won't exert too much energy on D if he isn't guarding a premier player in the league, but if he is called upon to do it, he's one of the top defensive players in the league; just look at his D on Nowitzki.

So yes sure he can do more, but I am very content with how he's playing now, I would rather have him expend most of his energy on offense when Yao isn't playing. May be when Yao gets back and he starts carrying most of the offensive load again McGrady will put more emphasis on D.

I am not sure I can criticize him for playing less-than-stellar defense...I have no right to criticize the guy right now the way he's carrying this team. Whatever it is he's doing it's working.

    Keep doing your thing, T-Mac...

He'll probably be saying it even after winning the NBA Finals.

"It's an amazing feeling to bring to Houston its third championship. I'm more amazed that we were able to do it despite our subpar defensive performance in the third and fourth quarter.
"And of course, the play of our rookies in the final blowout minutes was simply unacceptable."

I don't know why you guys are upset with JVG- our defense was terrible for nearly the whole game, and this game should have been put away long before that. I don't think he's being overly down, he's just stating the obvious- to be a great team, we have to come out ready to play night in and night out. Get over it.

Anyone catch Sportscenter?? T-Mac has an overall better game, and gets the win, and all they show is Ray Allen highlights- it's pretty disgusting. The guy puts up another MVP like performance, and they barely even mention how well he's been playing.

When I caught the highlights they showed T-Mac banking a 3 pointer off the glass at the buzzard, along with some of his other jumpers, and only one or two Ray Allen highlights. They didn't show the "ankle break" that the other posters are talking about in another thread, I was really looking forward to that.

Agree. Some people on here just like to talk to hear their head rattle with nothing significant to contribute. The lights are on but no ones home. The last line is a perfect example of meaningless dumbass conjecture with no basis of fact to back it up. When they have played together albeit few and far times between, there has been complete harmony. Neither one has displayed any shred of "shaqism vs kobyism schisms."

Whoever made mention of this last line to necessitate Rocket03 bringing it up, I nominate for King Dumbass of the Board award.

Did this genius even bother to watch how they worked seamlessly in 04-05? Did he see how they worked together in playoff series vs Mavs that year? If the Rox had a better supporting, less aged cast than in 04-05 we would've smoked the Mavs right out of the playoffs.

I mean try researching your points it would make the rest of us amazed at your accidental intellect. "T-Mac will suck once Yao comes back". Yeah, they will really suck when they're averaging 50 points a game and are the best tandem in the NBA AGAIN! LOL!!! Enough said.
